Beautiful surroundings! Our server Mohammed was excellent. Our chief complaint were the drinks. At $20 a drink they were skimpy pours, not well made and were missing ingredients. Next time I go I will be ordering wine.
20 minutes between the first 2 entrees arriving and the second entree arriving. An additional, 10 minutes for the last entree to arrive. In addition, 2nd entree was not thoroughly cooked. When you go out for a group dinner you typically expect to be able to eat at the same time. Manager delivered the final entree and when questioned about the delay she said they had a large private party. It seemed like the waitress forget to enter our orders. Restaurant was not that packed and had she offered to comp our appetizer or a drink or two this review might be different.
Beautiful space. However, the quality of the food is not commensurate with the price. The pierogies, for example, were nothing special - quite bland and very dense. The cauliflower steak was good, not great. The buratta was again good, but not great. The drinks are overpriced- $24 for a sazerac is too steep.
Open atmosphere and plenty of seating. Staff helpful and friendly. Ordered takeout of the chocolate cheesecake. $12 (overpriced) for the order. Rather dense and pretty small, scoring as one of the lower ranking cheesecakes I've had. Wasn't the worst, yet I wouldn't order it again.

The Maker has a strange ambiance, slow service, and incredibly uncomfortable seating if you’re under 6.’ Brown walls, brown wallpaper, brown murals, brass trim - it has this Rust Belt Era vibe, which is nothing short of monotonous and depressing. It was not actually dirty but it felt dirty due to the poor design. The only thing truly grandiose about this place is the chartreuse ten foot tall chandelier. Please sell that thing and brighten up the walls with something more cheery. Service is mediocre at best, and I’ll blame it on the way that the place was arranged (the kitchen is not central). The plates are really small, overpriced, and bland. The waiter did ever so slightly more than the bare minimum. I didn’t complain because I just wanted to run away. At the end of the day, you could get better meal & service around the corner at Starbucks for less, or spend 2-3X as much & still save on the margin at Morton’s. Came here for vibes…still trying to shake the ick.

Kudos on the renovation and transforming the lobby to a great cocktail bar and dining experience in Hotel Cleveland.
My father was a bartender in the late 50s and early 60s at the Hotel Cleveland. Dining at the Maker brought back memories of having breakfast with the Yankees at the hotel and then waking to the Municipal Stadium for the game.
Had a great time stopping into the bar here. Great food, great cocktails, and good service. My bartender Ameer always made sure I was taken care of and brought me anything I needed. Will definitely be returning!

I flew up to Cleveland for my cousins wedding and couldn’t have been more thankful for how well the staff treated us. We had a bartender named Ameer I believe who was awesome, and really brought great energy to the bar. It is people like Ameer who can make a weekend trip to Cleveland, Ohio memorable!!
I highly recommend The Maker Hotel!

Beautiful ambience! Food just fair. Not a lot of menu selection & wasn't prepared very well.

The setting & Service were exceptional! The food presentation was fabulous & quality was good.
I got the maple & miso salmon soba, and honestly it’s the best fish I have ever had. I am from the Pacific NW, so that’s saying something.

The service we received from the waiter was outstanding. She was attentive, pleasant to speak with, and conscious of our time and business meeting. We will definitely return.
It is one of these places where you can witness the heritage of Cleveland's glory. It is grande and tastefully renovated. The dimmed lighting, the cosy sitting areas, the Crystal chandeliers, the marble on the walls, the opulence of the decor makes you on-board in a time and place that belong to history.
Special mention for Carissa's great cocktails, she made a special smoky and spicy cocktail on demand. Her friendly yet professional service contributed to make this moment special. We initially came to the Maker for a drink before dinner, we ended up spending the whole night here, with more good cocktails and food. Everything was great and perfect, we had a fun time there. We will return and spread the word.
The only thing we would improve is the sound system and Playlist!

There was some sort of youth dance competition in town which made the atmosphere quite chaotic and less than ideal. Our server, David, took our orders at the bar quite begrudgingly as if he absolutely hated his job and wished he could be anywhere else. My girlfriend ordered a vodka martini… our server David prepared her the drink, taking a mixing spoon off the unclean bar and stirred her drink. When asked if she wanted olives, David reached around into the fridge and grabbed a fistful of olives with his bare hand and threw them in her drink. She gets martinis everywhere we go and literally couldn’t finish this one because of how poorly it was made and the disgust at the hygiene of the bar area and bartenders. I ordered their Goldie drink, and it was awful. David didn’t measure anything, and just haphazardly added ingredients to a glass and slid it to me, spilling 20% of the drink in the process. Didn’t matter much, as the lemon juice seemed to make up 75% of the drink and I was unable to finish it. What should have been a nice, relaxing evening cocktail turned into a wasted $50 on unfinished drinks and awful service. Definitely do not recommend to anyone, ever. Try Marble Room and Society Lounge about 2 blocks away. Similar or cheaper pricing on drinks, and so much better quality from a drink and service perspective.
