He was really nice. He gave us a free bag of chips, wouldn't accept a tip, and gave us a discount. The hot dog was amazing! He was the friendliest person I've met in NYC so far! Definitely worth the walk up through Central Park!

I’ve been visiting for years and this restaurant has only improved with time! Plenty of seating, friendly staff and servers, bright dining area all add to an enjoyable meal. The food has been consistently great. We brought a friend here from Germany to have him sample our great city’s gastronomic delights….. (besides deep dish pizza and Chicago style hot dogs). We had corned beef sandwiches, potato pancakes, kreplach soup and matzo balls. Everything was delicious and he was blown away by the huge sandwich in taste and size. The rye bread is always fresh and the corned beef thin and warm. The owner even stopped by to greet us…. Our friend was impressed by the whole experience. We definitely will return!

First visit post pandemic. Same choice of great entrees served by friendly staff, large dining area, free parking around back. Pretty pricey for lunch, but this is downtown Chicago. Next time wife and I will share.

The feel of a New York deli in Chicago. When you enter they have a cafeteria like line to choose your food. It's from here you order specialty items, like sandwiches. I ordered the Four Kinder ($24). It consists of Corned Beef, Pastrami, Brisket, and Turkey on your choice of Bread. I also ordered a Noodle Kugel ($5.50). Which is a casserole similar to bread pudding, but with noodles instead of bread. It's slightly sweet. The sandwich was piled high with a ton of meat and was absolutely delicious. Each of the meats on their own were tender a full of flavor. Together they made a complex taste of wonderful meats. The bread it was on was also top notch. The surprise of the meal though was the Kugel. It was outstanding. I absolutely devoured it. Overall a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. I'd love to try some of the cafeteria items, like the meatloaf or spaghetti.
