Michaelangelo's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar

I was so excited to try this restaurant! I called at 430 pm to ask about specials of the night and the hostess relayed them to me and I said I'll call back within 20 min to place a togo order to which she responded no problem at all. When I called back 18 min after phone call to place a togo order a very rude male answered the phone and said they are wayyy to busy to entertain any togo orders. Ive never been met with such rudeness while just trying to place a togo order at a restaurant that sounded great. Needless to say I'll never call or go there again!! No establishment whose rude to customers deserve any attention. Just wow!

I have now been to this restaurant 4 times and it has always been superb but my experience last night was so fantastic, I had to write this review. We had a reservation at another restaurant and they were so incredibly behind on seating that my husband and I had to leave after waiting almost an hour beyond our reservation time. We took a chance and walked into Michaelangelo’s on a busy Valentine’s Day evening hoping they may have space. Understandably, they didn’t. The hostess was pleasant and welcoming. She suggested waiting in the bar and that a seat may open up and took my coat for me. We walked into the bar area and it was full. We decided to wait 5 more minutes before accepting our loss because it was after 9 and they would be closing at 10. Just as we were considering leaving, a man approached us from behind the bar asking if we needed help (if I recall correctly, I believe his name was John). I explained what happened at the prior restaurant and that we were waiting to see if a bar seat might open up. He empathized with us and immediately offered an open bar table or said we could wait on a couple guests that were cashed out and about to leave from the bar but that they would definitely get us seated somewhere. I was ecstatic and so grateful. We ended up getting the bar seating. The bartender was lovely. She was very attentive, and efficient. We had a wonderful time. Michaelangelo’s saved the day and they are now our absolute favorite restaurant in the area. The food is amazing, the staff is so considerate and helpful, and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable.

Wonderful food and drinks.

The Lobster and Shrimp Ravioli is divine! Creme Brulee was phenomenal. We will definitely return again.

Michaelangelo's provided an amazing dinner experience. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess we felt truly valued as guests. The menu was enticing and the food was delicious! Much to the chagrin of my family, I ordered the vegetarian dish and it was superb!
Our server Angie was fantastic, offering thoughtful suggestions to enhance our meal and attentive service throughout the evening. It is clear that you take great pride in serving the community elegantly presented and authentic Italian meals. We hope to come back soon.

This used to be one of the very best restaurants in Cleveland, so it brings me no joy to rate it this low today. We were one of two tables in the dining room, and it took about ten minutes for a server (who was actually the bartender) to acknowledge us. I asked for a drink list, she brought it over, and then disappeared for another ten minutes. While we sat there waiting, we listened as the other server complained to the busser about the other table. The beef carpaccio was not at all like it used to be. It was not tenderloin, it was a different cut of beef, sliced way too thick and submerged in oil. The sauce in the veal saltimbocca was inedible, and the potatoes that accompanied the filet were overcooked and dry. When we brought our grievances to the bartender, she was very rude about it, and she went right back to the kitchen and complained about us very loudly. This restaurant used to be the gold standard for food and service and it’s very sad to see how far it’s slipped. It was very concerning to see that all of Little Italy was very busy last night, except this restaurant. After experiencing some of the worst service possible and lackluster food, I now understand why. Very disappointing. I hope the owner decides to invest some time into fixing the food and staff before it’s too late.

This place is a hidden gem! As soon as you walk in you feel like your in a different world. The food is unbelievably delicious. Well worth the price. The service there is great everyone was very friendly. Will be dining here again.
