Sat in the bar area and ordered apps. All of the apps were fantastic! And the service was great!
Everything was fabulous. The location is great, and we really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Morton's
Amazing food -fantastic service - best anniversary and birthday dinner -shrimp, filet mignon, ravioli chocolate lava cake - what could be wrong ?
Very disappointed . . . Server was too attentive. Constantly checking on us, it appeared as though he was rushing us through our dinner. Food was mediocre. Definitely not the same as it use to be. We were there to celebrate a special occasion, but will most likely not be returning.
We took our daughter for her 25th birthday. Our service and food were both GREAT!! We haven't been in a few months but we highly recommend Morton's as a great downtown choice!!
The dinner entrées were all excellent. The size were great, especially the au gratin potatoes and brussels sprouts. The desserts were very disappointing. Only one of them was actually very good. The rest of them are horrible and especially for their price. The ambience of the restaurant was great. the service was excellent And we'll go back again, but we'll find someplace else to get dessert.
A Disappointing Experience at Morton’s
As a loyal customer who has never had an issue with Morton’s in the past, I was disheartened by my most recent visits. I feel it’s necessary to share this experience, despite how much I typically avoid leaving negative reviews.
To start, we noticed an inconsistency in food preparation practices—specifically, some of the kitchen staff were selectively wearing gloves. This was concerning. Additionally, after being seated, we waited about 20 minutes before we had to request bread, which should have been provided automatically. Our server had an assistant, yet even simple requests seemed to be an inconvenience. When we inquired about the bread, the server’s passive-aggressive response, “Yes, if you can wait a second,” was disheartening and set a tone of indifference for the rest of the evening.
Throughout our visit, the feeling of being an inconvenience to the server persisted. Each time we asked for clarification or accommodations regarding the menu, her lack of knowledge and enthusiasm became evident. In stark contrast, we observed another server nearby who was engaging, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic—qualities that enhance the customer experience but were noticeably absent at our table.
The situation became even more frustrating when there was a mix-up with a gift card I was using to pay. (In my previous visit,) I had read the card numbers off my phone, and the waiter then had successfully processed it; after writing down the numbers, our server returned to our table and loudly announced, “Your card declined,” which caused heads to turn. It was embarrassing, especially since it turned out that the numbers were written down incorrectly.
Speeding up to my current visit:
When I went to pay this time , I had thought it would be a great idea to write down my gift card numbers ahead of time to alleviate any confusion , once I told her I’d be paying with the gift card, I was using my balance from last time ;you could see the look of this disdain on her face . She then proceeded to tell me I need to see proof that you purchased it ! Usually, , if you have a gift card ,you’re not the one who purchased it but ok . I then did what was asked and pulled it up on my phone . After giving her the gift card number she processes it , and then comes back in a very dismissive manner that I owed an additional $0.88. Cent . The passive-aggressive tone that had permeated the service reached its peak at that point. It felt as though the server assumed she wouldn’t be receiving a tip, and it showed in her demeanor.
I attempted to use my Landry’s card for the $25 discount but realized too late that I hadn’t registered it. By then, it was clear the server was done trying to provide any level of service. After spending over $200 on what was, at best, mediocre food, I was left feeling deeply disappointed and even hurt by the treatment we received. We gave The balance of 88cent on the credit card to include the tip , we were never asked for our ID to try to confirm identity or that it was ours like she did the gift card. The gift card never confirmed our identity so I didn’t understand the point of asking me to pull it up on my phone .
The culmination of poor service, passive-aggressive behavior, and even the subtle undertones of racial bias made for an unpleasant and unfortunate dining experience. Despite my loyalty to Morton’s, this experience has left me with no desire to return, even if a client were to invite me.
Our server, Kate, was responsible for this experience, and while I understand that everyone can have an off day, this was far beyond unacceptable for a restaurant of Morton’s caliber.

I expected a better steak for the price. Girlfriend had to send her filled back. It was well done. They did give her another steak, that was rare. So we took it home and cooked it medium rare. We will go back though.

I had been to this Mortons about a decade ago. I was a little disappointed with my visit last Sunday. Our server Katy seemed annoyed anytime we had a question or request. She also did not seem to be knowledgeable of the menu items. I was disappointed that side of the restaurant we were on did not have a burger on the menu, I'm not much of a steak eater, but we were allowed to order burger sliders for the children. I had the lobster ravioli and lobster bisque and both were okay, not great. The only thing I liked was my mocktail which was the Lavender Field. That was pretty good. Another thing that I observed was that we were one of the first parties there and there were probably a dozen workers and no one spoke while we waited about five minutes for the host to seat us, except a tall white guy who I assume was a manager. In my opinion this experience was not worth the money you paid considering there are other restaurants that have more innovative menu items and friendlier service at a fraction of the price.

I was looking to go to this place since I've been to their Houston branch, and sadly it was not the same experience.
The food was good, well presented, taste, and well served, but the atmosphere was too loud, and the service was awful. We had 2 waiters that never paid attention to us, even than my party had 7 people. And we felt they were a bit racist.

I would bet anything the GM is a man because no woman would allow a women’s restroom to look like that. It was filthy. The handicap stall was out of order. One lock of two did not function. Paper towels and a pill! on the floor. Not a single stall with TP on a roll. I can’t believe we paid $400 for dinner and that’s your ladies room. Two different employees went in and out while I was there to use it but no one said anything because it was just as bad when we left two hours later. I was mortified going with my mother in law to that restroom, as if we were eating at an Applebees.
Also, it’s October in Cleveland. It’s 41 outside. Why is your AC running at dinner? All your guests had coats on in the dining room. If a manager had bothered to walk the floor, they would have noticed it. Sat night 630 dinner reservation.
Best steak and service I’ve had in a while. Shame it’s backed up with oversight like this.

Not happy at all. I made a reservation two months ago to have dinner before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and they cancelled my reservation at 1 am in the morning the day of the ceremony. Obviously, I am not able to find another place for us to eat last minute. I will never trust a Morton's reservation again. They lost us. We will go to BluePoint next time. I have never had an issue there.
FYI...Morton's called me and tried to say I was double booked and their hostess tried to call me to resolve it. I NEVER received that phone call. Anyway...they decided to delete my reservation after I confirmed that day. Very shady business. I am so not happy! Never again!
