Breakfast was mediocre. I spent the extra money for the buffet and couldn't get someone to come to the omelet station to make an omelet. Service was abysmal. It took so long for someone to take our order that we almost left, couldn't get our drinks refilled, and it took about 10 minutes from when the server picked up the check to come back with the credit card. Also the table had crumbs and coffee on it with new plates and silverware just sat in top. It wasn't even that busy (maybe 4-5 tables) and there were at least 5 non kitchen staff there.

We were seated on time for our reservation and received our drinks quicklyUpon ordering our meals, our server asked us to move to a different table because we were having soup for lunch instead of ordering the buffet (this was her explanation!). This was a business meeting with a group who were being introduced for the first time, so the request to move a table full of beverages , in the middle of our conversation, for a very odd reason created confusion and awkwardness She asked us several times to move while we all looked at each other in puzzlement. As we started to get up to move, another host sat the table that our server wanted us to move to so we stayed out. One of us ordered French onion soup which the server recommended; she returned and said they were out of it; so he ordered chicken noodle instead. She then brought the onion soup in addition to the chicken noodle. After she brought the check, the manager came over and asked us to move tables again with no obvious explanation of why. It was among the strangest and disappointing experiences I've had in any restaurant. This is the third bad experience I've had in this restaurant in this calendar year. They seem incapable of running lunch service and basic courtesy, so absolutely will not return.

I love North Coast Cafe' . One of my favorite lunch places. I took my granddaughters there and they loved the buffet. Staff is wonderful, food is wonderful, desserts are fabulous.

Extremely helpful and professional staff. Food was inventive and nutritious. More than filled the bill in that neighborhood. Elegant setting.

I feel like the service is never great at this restaurant. Our waitress took our order, did not write it down and of course got it wrong. Very frustrating because I come here all the time for work and want it to better.

Arrived minute or two ahead of our noon reservation and were quickly seated. Order taken at 12:10 for three salads ordered directly from the menu with no modifications. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. At 12:37 I was concerned since we hadn't received beverages, so I asked the hostess if we could pay our bill in advance so we would have a quick exit to return to work. At 12:47 no food had arrived. The server brought the bill at 12:50 but said the manager was “seeing what they could do about it.” No manager arrived so I asked for the food to go and very reluctantly paid the bill. The food arrived in unlabeled takeout containers. When we returned to our offices, there were no utensils. I contacted the restaurant by email that afternoon requesting a refund. That was 6 days ago with no response.

First time there. Waited about 10 minutes to get seated once seated waited another 10 minutes for our server. A server from another table saw we weren’t being waited on and got us some waters. Finally our server did show up and when it came time to bring the food out she sat it down quickly and dashed off. Did not ask if there was anything we needed. We both had water and she never refilled our water when she brought our food.Food was good, atmosphere was pleasant and other staff members we met with were nice. Not sure if I’d go back. Definitely will try something else as I plan to be at the Cleveland clinic off and on for a while. Hopefully this staff member get some coaching on customer service.

They have a very nice staff and the best lunch buffet around. The food is creative and wonderful. The desserts are yummy. The restaurant has a wall of windows and makes the room light and comfortable. Definitely one on my favorite lunch places.

Went for lunch with friends and, while the service was nice, I felt the food was underwhelming for the price.

Vegetarian options: Minimal vegetarian options, mostly salads.

In the past I dined at North Coast Cafe as they offered a lunch buffet that was timely and convenient for my meetings. Now post-COVID, they only offer ordering from a menu that slows down the timing and provides fewer options relative to what I prefer to eat. Still great service and good quality.

NotaBene

North Coast Café is the best option for a relatively quiet and relaxed lunch on Cleveland Clinic's main campus. The lunch menu is quite good and offers a nice selection, and the staff is very professional and accommodating.

The food is marginal and the prices are high for what you get. The breakfast omelettes were bland and needed more spices. I would pass on this restaurant.

The place was almost empty. That should have been a hint. Service was slow and somewhat surly. I've had better French onion soup from Campbell's. My guest's salad greens looked like they were a week old. Only passing Chardonnay. Will not return.
