We made Valentine’s Day reservations at Osteria Italian, having been assured they could accommodate my husband’s dairy allergy despite the prix fixe menu. I had requested to see the menu in advance, but they stated no menu could be shared ahead of time.

Upon arrival, we discovered every item on the menu contained dairy, and their “solution” was simply to remove ingredients—offering something as basic as pasta with olive oil for a $198 per couple meal.

The service was equally underwhelming. Our server took an excessively long time to check with the kitchen about accommodations, leaving us waiting and frustrated. Ultimately, we decided to leave and ended up at a nearby brewery instead.

Adding to the frustration, they claimed only 5:30 PM or 9:00 PM reservations were available, yet we left the restaurant with many empty tables in sight.

For the price and the occasion, we expected far better communication, service, and creativity in accommodating a common dietary restriction. Unfortunately, Osteria fell far short, and we won’t be returning.

Unlikely to return after being charged a 3% fee in addition to the included 20% tip. They have no busboys so you sit with dirty dishes between courses and nobody to pour water.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Very expensive for a decent steak and lamb chops. The worst tiramisu I have ever tried in my life, awful to eat that in a so called Italian restaurant. In addition, Waitress was bit arrogant by mentioning she did not add the hot tea ( a regular lipton tea) to the check. Very disappointed. Cost 200+ for two.

Beautiful restaurant, unfortunately service was sub par. Food took over an hour to arrive, seems like they are wildly understaffed. Waited 45 minutes for checks to pay.

I was very excited to try this place with the 4.7 reviews but it was a very lackluster experience. The service was slow and unresponsive. The food was mediocre at best but for the prices I would say it was terrible. The atmosphere was nice upon walking in but it all went down from there. Definitely better Italian restaurants in the area. Save your time and your money.

On a weekend trip to the CLE for a Rock & Roll induction ceremony we found this gem. Highly rated on Google Maps we made an 8pm reservation. It happened to be the same night as a Cleveland Guardians playoff baseball game (starting at 8pm) so it was rather quiet in the restaurant. That being said the ambiance was set with live piano music, the service was top notch and the food was outstanding! That bread service with housemade roasted tomato butter! ? ?? Meatballs. French Onion Soup (my wife’s odd add to dinner). Spinach Ravs. Veal Tortellini. Wife had an espresso martini. I had a few glasses of wine. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! Thank you!

Absolutely loved the pasta. Everything was incredibly well cooked and seasoned. The hand crafted cocktails were amazing and I really enjoyed the ambiance.

Overall Osteria did not live up to the previous reviews posted. First off the entrance is on the side of a building. You can barely see where it is and the appearance gave a vibe of being unkempt. When we arrived, the host acted as though he was confused as to why we were there. Even though I had a reservation. Once we sat down, the waitress gave us the menus. She didn’t stop to explain anything just said “here’s the menus” and walked away. I then asked what her favorite wine was and she told me she doesn’t drink red wine, but that she hasn’t had anyone complain about any of them. Additionally, while ordering our food, I asked her what her favorite pasta choice was. Once again she was having to look at the menu to actually know what she was talking about and didn’t give me a straight answer. Typically when you go to a fancier restaurant waitresses And waiters are able to recite the details about the menu where they work.

In terms of the food. They didn’t have the soup that we ordered. And we were only told this after we had ordered it and waited 20 minutes. The waitress said they could give us the other soup instead which was a wedding soup. We opted for the wedding soup, but once again it was subpar there were no noodles and there was only one small meatball.
The bread was good. My pasta was a little overcooked, but the flavors were good.

Can’t say I would return here based on this experience. When you’re paying 100+ dollars for a meal there’s a certain experience that should be had.

The food was alright and the service was good. If you don’t drink, then there isn’t really a lot of non-alcoholic beverages. I went to Mangia Mangia and it was far superior. Definitely give the other place a try!

The meal and experience was absolutely divine! Thank you Rochelle and Rob for the impeccable service and hospitality. Highly recommend the Italian wines, carpaccio, fillet mignon and the veal. I wish we had tried the bourbon maple bread pudding but we were just too full!

What a fun little find before going to a play. The food was excellent. The service was prompt but not in your face. Has a charming and yet sophisticated atmosphere that leaves you comfortable and wanting to come back.
