Be specific! Ordered a chai with "nutmeg on the bottom." They didn't have nutmeg, so I went with cinnamon instead. She said "5 dollars" as she walked away. Came back to check me out, and charged me $6 instead. Figuring she must have thought I wanted a large, paid. When I received the medium, I inquired about the price difference and was told that it was a dollar for cinnamon (which came from a flavor shot, not a powder.)
So after being told one price, charged another, I was obviously upset that I was: not told of the charge. After asking for nutmeg on the bottom, and then cinnamon on the bottom, neither of those statements led her to disclose that it would not be a powdered addition? And then she finished the interaction by repeating oh, I'm sorry, have a nice day repeatedly because apparently I made all the mistakes here. On top of that, I would have absolutely said no to a flavor shot.
It's too bad, I'm on jury duty for the next few days and had she not been a complete dick about it, the cafe would have seen repeat business.
