Parallax was one of my top favourite restaurants in Cleveland. The chef here definitely knows how to do Japanese-French fusion. Everything that we ate was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The flavours melt in your mouth and the ingredients used were so fresh and tender. The service by the wait staff definitely makes the experience that much better. On Wednesdays, it's half-priced wines and the waiter that served us definitely knows his wines. You can describe to him that you're looking for in your wine experience and he'll recommend the perfect bottle to you! The ambiance of the restaurant really sets the mood for a romantic night out. It is not extremely bright, but it's also not too dark--perfect place for a date night here. I really look forward to coming back and hope that they open back up soon. I would recommend Parallax to anyone who comes to visit Cleveland. There is free parking on the street close to the restaurant. Quite busy since there's many restaurants around. Be prepared to walk a tiny bit if street parking closet is full.

Arguably the best sushi deal in all of Cleveland! I say arguably because it's tough to rule out Kintaro's $15 AYCE, but if you're looking for a bit higher end meal rather than a straight guilty pleasure binge, Parallax is your spot. Every single item on the sushi menu (including sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls and special rolls) is 50% off on Mondays. I was initially most excited to try the specialty rolls, but the surprising favorite for us was unanimously the white tuna hosomaki, which was so buttery delicious that we ended up getting seconds! The specialty and sushi rolls, on the other hand, were actually pretty average. We couldn't decide between the lobster vs steak rolls and got both on the Surf & Turf, but tbh it really only reaffirmed for me that the texture of cooked beef rarely ever belongs on a sushi roll. Nonetheless I would still come back in a heartbeat to take advantage of sushi Mondays solely for the white tuna hosomaki +/- one of the sashimi/nigiri combo platters OR even on a regular day to try one of their many mouthwatering fusion seafood entrees! TL;DR Upscale sushi spot in Tremont that is super affordable and perfect for nicer occasions or impressing a date without breaking the bank; don't sleep on the hosomaki!!

Ordered our whole meal with dessert and they brought out the dessert first - service was weird and disjointed - upon paying was charged for another tables tab - was brought two different amount checks with two different amounts - server didn't remedy in a way that suffices by showing us what items were on the tab we paid for. Food was also mid The booths make ya feel like a lil kid and my back hurts 1 hr after

I would recommend this restaurant for dinner, including to celebrate a special occasion. We had a great experience here. Joel was an excellent server - very friendly and attentive. All the dishes came out quickly and were delicious. The Brussels sprouts were the star of the meal.We also weren’t expecting dinner and a show. We were sat at a table close to the kitchen, which is open and visible to the dining room. One of the chefs was doing his best Gordon Ramsey, swearing at (or at least in the faces of) the staff and being aggressive behind the line. We absolutely heard a plate crash in the kitchen after someone realized they had a dish they couldn’t serve for whatever reason. It was striking at first, but we got used to it as we drank throughout our meal.In all seriousness, that chef was pretty rude to the staff, and it was uncomfortable to watch. Otherwise, the service from Joel and the other staff who stopped by our table was great.Overall, despite the unexpected kitchen show, I would go back and would recommend this restaurant.

We were really looking forward to good sushi and Paralax delivered the sushi but the rest was lacking. We ordered two miso soups (one as an appetizer and one for part of dinner). We asked that one come out as an appetizer. The waitress said "well we will see if we can handle that". At first I thought she was kidding considering the soup was listed as an app. But nope the soup came out with the chicken ramen dinner! A beverage wasn't delivered until asked for AFTER dinner was delivered and when I said that it took long the reply was "we were changing the Co2 canister." My response, "that took 45 minutes?" "Yep, pretty much" was the response. NUMEROUS tables around us that were seated well after us received their dinners well before ours came and then they tried to give us two other meals we didn't order! However, their water service is fantastic. So much so that it is ANNOYING how many times they come to fill your water glass with the bottle that is ON YOUR TABLE TO SELF SERVE! Would not recommend!!!!! Gave two stars because the sushi was good.

EXCELLENT experience in every way! The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The service (including the wonderful hosts and server) was outstanding - our server was very warm and attentive, and everything was timed perfectly. The food was absolutely mind-blowing. We ate a beautiful platter of extremely fresh and high quality sushi, followed by their delicious chocolate mousse cake for dessert. And just as a nice bonus...we indicated on our reservation via Resy that it was our anniversary, not expecting that to be noticed even in the slightest - but we were wished a happy anniversary by 4 different staff at this restaurant...they were so kind and made us feel special. Highly recommend this place. The 2 of us ate a total of 5 sushi rolls and dessert (no alcohol) and our total was only $96, which all in all is a great deal for a sushi dinner! Highly recommend for a nice night out.

One of my new favorite restaurants in Cleveland! Extensive eccentric menu ranging from French Asian to sashimi and even Latin influences. Swordfish belly was in good volume with two large pieces of firm yet super juicy and flavorful fish. The corn was delicious in a southwestern sauce. The sashimi nigiri combo was a perfect sampler and very healthy. My mezcal cocktail was made custom without any simple syrup which is so appreciated. It even had a meringue made with shaken egg white atop! Great service, beautiful night to eat out on their patio, you must try this place. This is one of the few places I could visit multiple times and find equally exciting things on the menu to try!

Wow! They deliver on their promise! Beautiful place to hang out. Great service even late on a weekday. The salmon w/potato pancakes was spectacular (hors d’oeuvres). Great sushi. Helpful and very present staff. Expensive but you get what you pay for here. Will go back if I can.

My friend, a guy who knows fish, said his swordfish belly was great. My walleye was excellent. Our waiter, Kyle. Was attentive without hovering. The entire meal was terrific.

These were photos from last year but service and food were awesome. I’ll be returning in a few days, can’t wait!

Overall nice atmosphere - The inside and outside seating arrangements are very nice and the staff was attentive and great! Our food was average. The popcorn shrimp was crispy and savory. The pad Thai had so much sauce that it almost became a soup. The flavor was good but the sauce was very thin so it made it difficult to eat. We also got the salmon; the fish itself was cooked well but the sauce it was sitting in and topped with was extremely salty to to the point that we could only take a few bites of it. For dessert we got the pineapple upside down cake that was tasty.
