1890 offers good breakfasts in a nice setting. My egg white omelet was good, and the coffee was strong. The setting, in the Arcade, is pleasant, and service was quick and friendly.

The 1890 Restaurant & Lounge in the Hyatt Regency is a good choice if you need a place to eat that is both convenient and nearby. You can charge your meal to your room and the staff are very friendly and provide great service. However, the menu options are very limited and the food is just average. I was especially disappointed by the iced tea. It was not brewed but rather something like Nestea. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby if you have more time.

Very nice place inside the Arcade. Our breakfast was wonderful! We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and we mentioned this to our waitress Lillian. Before we left, she came back with goody bag with caramel corn, chocolates and battled water in honor of our anniversary and a sweet note wishing us many more. She made our day! Thank you, Lillian!

The 1890 Restaurant & Lounge is on the lobby level of the Hyatt at the Arcade downtown. This is actually one floor up when you enter from Superior Avenue. Parking is a premium around this hotel. You can use valet parking, provided through the Hyatt, or park yourself in one of the nearby garages. In our case, we stopped into the 1890 Lounge for a couple of beverages before dinner. The decor is modern contemporary. They have seating at the bar, at hightops or at tables. They also have several TVs above the bar. Service was fine and beverage prices okay. The prices relative to hotel venues was fine, however, compared to prices at one of the nearby sports bars was high. I think that you pay for convenience of staying on the hotel property versus walking outside. We did not try any food. However, the restaurant area looked nice, formal and if with your significant other, good be romantic. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. No issues with our stop at the 1890 Lounge and we would be fine returning.

The lounge is hit or miss. The first night had excellent service and food. The second night the bartender served me burnt wings and charged me full price on a beer ordered before the happy hour ended. She seemed more interested in clearing the bar than providing good service.

We ate in the lounge one night and took advantage of the top shelf happy hour specials. The bartender took good care of us and engaged the patrons in conversation. We are breakfast one morning. The staff was nice, food was good and served quickly.

The menu for food wasn't extensive, but there were lots of choices. They didn't skimp on the food at all, totally big portions. A little pricey, but not bad. If I stayed at the hotel, I would stop by here again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our breakfast at the 1890 Restaurant. The menu had interesting choices and the ones we chose were delicious. Our service, Ashley, was friendly, efficient and helpful. We had a wonderful meal.

A big surprise was they serve REAL Cracker Jacks as a bar snack! In addition, we had the ribs appetizer which was very tasty. Very nice! The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant, which was very nice, as well.
