The food is always pretty good here, however everytime I or my friends pick up, the Townes/waitress is extremely rude. Most recently, the app I used wasn’t working so she didn’t have the food ready. I was being very understanding about it, but she kept telling me how busy it was right now and acting like it was my fault I even ordered in the first place. She demanded I tell her the menu number of the items I ordered because she did not know the name of the dish. It took me time to find the number on my phone and she was very impatient and grabbed the phone out of my hand.
The attitude of the owner is really bad. Today I order a meat dish and a veggie dish for pick up. When arrived there she gave my bf a receipt showing the correct dishes. But when we got home and opened the boxes the meat dish was substituted with a tofu of the same style. We called to let her deliver the meat dish to our place and she refused and hanged up my phone. She was willing to give back our money for the meat dish next time (not even right away and God knows if she will remember next time) but that was not what I wanted and her attitude was just bad. She was playing passive aggressive. She was treating us very lightly and she even laughed. She made me feel like it was my fault that I didn’t drive back to get the correct dish. Excuse me?? I have done my part right. I ordered the correct dishes, drove to the restaurant, and picked up the dishes. Why would I drive another 40min back and forth to pick up again because of your fault? She wasn’t even sorry and she didn’t say sorry at all. Now I am starved and am forced to become vegetarian for one day. Her attitude just ruined my precious Sunday! I will NEVER order at this place again.
Love this place!! The waitresses are so sweet and the food is always delicious.
I have been going here for years; glad that they now allow indoor seating again. My favorite: the ma po tofu. The atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious, and the food is excellent. To my untrained palate, this seems like the real thing; if I ever visit Sichuan, I will have had a foretaste of it here.
I got General chicken and spring rolls. The spring rolls were good, but I wasn’t impressed with the chicken.
The food was ok but the service was horrible, I had to ask for silverware and condiments
Beyond good. With 283 items on the menu and all can be made to the order ......try beating that. They have gotten at least three quarters of China covered as far as cuisines are concerned. Classic, fresh and amazing
I usually go to liwahs in the plaza .they were closed because of covid. The food was really good. Best crab ragun ever.
There is a older Chinese waitress employed here who definitely doesn't like white customers. I don't eat at places where I'm not treated with a standard, acceptable level of respect.
Ok scene for Chinese food. Good place to hang and eat some good food. I will be bringing family next time. Prices are fair I would say.
Restaurantji Recommends
All I know is I would die for their General Tso’s Tofu and scallion pancakes. Super generous potions, can’t beat the price, is genuinely my go-to comfort food around these
I landed on this spot after driving around for a bit. I realized dine-in was unavailable, so I ordered over the phone. The lady was so sweet and helpful with ordering. Her suggestion of the Hunan Beef was a winner and the flavors were great! She even called me when my food was ready because she knew I was waiting in my car. I will definitely go back again and try other dishes.
The food is always great, nice workers
Ordered takeout today and it was definitely worth it. Placed an order at around 5 o'clock and arrivred to Szechuan Cafe about 15 minutes after placing the order. The food was ready to go and hot. I ordered the general tso's tofu while my girlfriend ordered the general tso's chicken. Both our orders were delicious and would definitely order again. We both opted to get the fried rice instead of the white, which proved to be an excellent decision. The portion sizes were quite large, allowing us enough left overs to have another full meal for lunch tomorrow. We definitely recommend Szechuan Cafe and wilp be back again.
chinese food and the atmosphere at this spot is great. i will probably become a regular. it has an awesome atmosphere. kinda of like a cafe in phoenix that i enjoyed.
