I have a group of friends who get together for food and drinks monthly. We try to go to different places each time and in February, one suggested Borgata. I was skeptical at first due to the parking situation in Little Italy, but she insisted that their food is *superb* and that it would be worth the hassle! I thought… superb food? At a bar?? Whatever… ok. So 8 of us show up and I ask my friend what she recommended. Without hesitation, she said the blackened chicken Alfredo. Sure. Turns out that half the table took her advice and ordered it. The rest got burgers. When they brought our plates, I had a couple of quick reactions:
1. They serve it with spaghetti instead of the usual fettuccine.
2. Compared to the others who ordered the same dish, my piece of chicken was very small, which actually made me privately upset that I wanted to point it out to our server, but decided not to.
I bit my tongue, then a slice of the chicken after. OMG!!! Anger gone! So tender. So flavorful. Perfect charring! And, OMG!! The 3 pieces of garlic toast that comes with it is no toast that I’ve ever had before! If the dish didn’t come with chicken, I swear that toast could’ve been the feature! It’s seriously that good! The Alfredo was rich and creamy and the spaghetti actually worked well.
If I had to be picky, it’s that they don’t have a great beer selection. But I like food better than beer anyway, so I didn’t mind. Borgata, I shall return!!

Good food in a generous poportion. Except the bowl of italian wedding soup was pretty much a child size portion. Quiet place that plays a mix of 60-70 s music and now and then a crooner. Older crowd that is behaved and quiet. Smaller place with about 8 tables and bar stools with backs around the long wooden bar. The waitress made us feel like the good side of the family.
Entrees 14-19; sandwiches, salads 11 -14; soup 7-8. As always in little Italy parking is scarce.
No wheelchair access.

My family was having a get-together and we landed on Borgata by recommendation - and I will tell you, we made the right choice! This bar has a warm neighborhood vibe - nothing too fancy, but the instant you walk in, you feel welcome. Other patrons were talking with each other at the bar, familiar songs would play on the jukebox and everyone would sing along, etc. We had a party of eight and they set up several tables for us. Our waitress was Hasha-Marie and she had our whole table laughing the entire visit. Frank, behind the bar, came out and gave the ladies at our table surprise stocking gifts and even took a picture with my mom!
We had a wide range of appetizers and main meals - mussels, bruschetta, calamari, pasta dishes and some fish dishes and everything was great. Also, the pistachio ricotta cheesecake was amazing!
We all left the bar and have been talking about it since! Big thanks to the whole crew for making it a night to remember!

We were in town and looking for a place to eat on the 4th of July. As we walked down the street, every place was closed, but their door was open and I peeked inside and asked whether they were open. Frank said, "If I'm here, we're open," and he brought us in and treated us like family & asked us what we'd like to eat. As other people came in, they all made us feel at home. Bottom line: this place is great - the people, the service, the food, the atmosphere. We'll be back when in town.

We found this friendly neighborhood bar on our first day in Cleveland. The lasagna was delicious and the good vibes from the super nice staff were so welcoming. Because I was having surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, I had to stay in our rented apartment all week recuperating. But my husband found a home away from home at The Borgata Bar. And when he told everyone about my surgery, the chef gave him a gift for me! It was a beautiful set of turquoise jewelry: a necklace, matching earrings, and two bracelets. How nice is that?! When I go back to Cleveland for a followup checkup, I will definitely give that chef a hug…and order a big plate of his lasagna.

Mixed Feelings at The Borgata Bar
Visited when they first opened and were met with a strange comment from the staff about our early arrival. Not the warmest welcome. Service wasn't overly friendly, and our orders came out wrong. Drinks were left empty, too. Despite the incorrect order, the food itself was actually tasty. Overall, the experience was dampened by the service and mix-ups.
