Stayed at this property one night while traveling for work. The hotel is on the outskirts of Cleveland so the area is not as live and vibrant as a bustling part of a large city, but I did not feel unsafe. The exterior of the hotel is definitely older but nothing I would consider run down. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the hotel. Nice lobby, not fancy but nice, and an extremely pleasant staff. I had no elevator trouble during my stay. I did have to call an elevator attendant...
The hotel is architectually stunning, but falling apart. We stayed here due to a wedding at the venue. The positives are the architecture--it is described as Gothic Revival--the wedding venue was beautiful with details that you can find no where else. We stayed in a suite that was generously sized and featured a sitting area with 2 chairs. The view from the windows featured stone sculptures outside the windows.
