S L O W!Food is always excellent but they are super slow. If you don't have at least a half hour and your going to the drive thru, DONT.

Heather Duffield

Rude drive thru agent, food order not correct, had to practically beg for sour cream after they lied that there was extra in the bag.

we got two biggie bags and the servers didn't give us our sandwiches for an extra 30 minutes and we were not the only people that they shorted on food and their tea had been sitting all day and made me gag

Don’t bother trying to get a job at this location! They’ve decided they’re not hiring until after Christmas, despite the fact that the corporate page is setting up interviews for this store currently. And if you’re lucky enough to have one set up they’ll just turn you away, despite the fact that you have the information on your phone. They won’t look at it, nor do they care. For an establishment who is HURTING for employees, they sure are keen to turn willing employees away.

I miss being able to walk around this store during this pandemic. It is the only place I want to buy my herbs and spices. Everything is fresh. Staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. Penzeys' chocolate is the best. If you like to cook or bake, and you want to step up your game, Penzeys has to be your next stop, when this virus thing is over.

This review is for Bill Penzey and Penzeys customer svc, not any store. There was no timeframe and no expiry date. "But on our best days you also get a good serving of the shared humanity that makes life fun and worthwhile. Thanks, Bill." ____ Really!!! I am disgusted by your lack of "humanity!" You can still make this "right!" Penzeys seems to be just as "uncaring" as every other crooked corporation . . . not giving a crap about your customers even though you claim to be "different"! You will receive an email each time I receive an email telling me how wonderfully different and "JUST" Penzeys is! Do the right thing and resolve this. You give away so much product. What would it cost you to make good on this??? (April 2021 is 3 years!) ____ Date: Mon, Feb 24, 2020 at 6:31 AM Subject: Penzeys coupon To: [email protected] Dear Bill-I have been putting off writing this email and am upset enough to no longer be a loyal Penzeys customer. . . . HISTORY: I received a lovely Christmas gift of Penzeys spices from my niece years ago. I was so impressed and was pleased to find that there was a large, inviting store located in Rockville MD, not far from my zip code in Silver Spring MD. I signed up for emails from Penzeys and was excited and relieved that there was at least one corporation that was willing to put its business on the line to stand up for justice and what is right concerning the political state of affairs in our country. I operate a business in Silver Spring, MD (very near your Rockville location). I provide my clients with recipes and recommend Penzeys spices to enliven their meals and to make their experiences with food exciting and anticipatory. Until Penzeys discontinued its printed catalog, I would pick up bundles of them and include them in all of my customer's consultation folders during their first visit to my business. I continued to verbally recommend Penzeys and emailed links to your web site during their visits. As well as being a loyal customer, I have also been referring my family and friends to your Rockville and Cleveland stores. I gave my sister-in-law my spare bottle of Fox Point in November while we were celebrating Thanksgiving with them in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Penzeys to any of my clients, relatives or friends and will no longer make any purchases from your stores or from your site. THE INCIDENT: I purchased a gift card and used it to purchase my nephew's Christmas gift and couldn't wait to surprise him when we celebrated Christmas in Cleveland in December. (I was pleasantly surprised that my Cleveland family also purchased spice boxes as Christmas gifts for family members, making this past Christmas a "Penzeys Christmas.") I visited the Rockville store in December to purchase his gift and had the attached coupon with me. (During my subsequent visits, the offer was repeatedly out of stock and I was unable to redeem the coupon-I attempted to redeem the coupon on numerous occasions that year without success, Because of this, I was told that there would be "no expiration date" on the coupon.) The coupon was set aside, misplaced, but not forgotten. Happily I discovered the coupon recently and took it with me during my Christmas shopping trip to Penzey's in December. The clerk called the corporate office to inquire about redeeming the coupon and was told that it was too old and that the promise made to me was not going to be honored. THIS WAS NOT MY FAILURE, BUT YOURS! I BELIEVE THAT I AM NOT SUFFERING FROM FAULTY THINKING IN EXPECTING YOUR COMPANY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. This is quite distressing since you represen

What a wonderful place! I love love love their spices. The staff are friendly and helpful and I always leave a little happier than when I walked in. I love that they promote new spices with awesome deals and when you sign up for emails you get deals every week. I love this company and when you open my spice cabinet Penzey's is all you will see.

Penzeys spices just ruined my Christmas Eve. I opened the spices for a friend (she loves penzey spices and I was across the street last night) to see what spices were in the sampler pack and it had a largely worded pamphlet on top that said "good government". Wondering what could that possibly mean in a spice sample set I read it. It was political propaganda in a cooking set. She, nor I, agree with and when I tell Her she will also never buy penzey again. But we didn't buy political merchandise. We bought spices to cook food for our loved one with a happy heart. I will be stopping payment on my credit card. These spices are useless and will go in the trash. I don't want to be upset each time I bake In my home, nor upset my friend. Keep your politics to yourself! Im seriously upset that they have negatively effected my Christmas spirit. Update. I literally woke up at 2am on Christmas night shaken and violated that such n*** like propaganda was sold to me without my knowledge when I purchased cooking products as Christmas gifts for my loved ones. Literally, literature telling me to "vow to vote for their candidate no matter who it was" and the jars were labeled with "revolution" and "justice" and the literature said "the shame that has been America". I am just absolutely shocked and scared that a company with nothing to do with politics and an aged and named company would slander our country and impose on unknowing customers.

It is a bit of an eye-opening experience walking into Penzeys and learning just how many types of cinnamon and curry powders that there are. I went there looking for nigella seeds to bake some naan bread, and they actually had them! I had never even heard of nigella seeds before they came up in my recipe and I admit that I was not expecting to find them at any shop in Cleveland, but I was wrong. The store is well organized so finding the spice or herb that you are looking for isn't hard despite all of the different options that they have. The trick is just deciding on what variation of the spice you want. Penzeys also makes a number of their own spice rubs and blends that I am yet to try. That will be for another day!

I've already written a review for Penzeys Spices location in Beachwood/Woodmere, and nothing more to update here really, except to say if you enjoy cooking at home and you've been sitting on Penzeys for a while hesitant to give it a try, stop sitting on it and do it! Penzeys is one of those places that I feel really elevates my cooking to another level, and one of the things I don't mind investing in a few times a year. I love to cook at home, and I don't necessarily enjoy spending money on cooking gadgets or cooking vessels, I'm of the mind that you can usually make whatever you have work just fine. However, there's something about good quality spices that really pushes good cooking to great. A good example of this is last year when I hosted a clam bake at my home, I baked simple chicken thighs in the oven to compliment the clams. I didn't do anything special or out of the ordinary, but family members are still raving about that chicken months later and asking me how I seasoned it. I'll never tell them my secret mix of spices (because truthfully, I can't remember myself... it's usually a sprinkle of this and that) but I will tell them that Penzeys made all the difference. One of the huge advantages of Penzeys is that most of their seasoning blends have no added salt or sodium, so you can be in charge of how you want your food seasoned. I also love that most of their spices come in different sizes, so you aren't stuck with a huge container of ground mustard when you only need a bit. My only small complaint is that they push their free products a little too much. If you sign up for their emails, they will bombard you with offerings, which for me isn't really my thing. I prefer coming in when I need something, and a free container of some obscure seasoning isn't really going to bring me in the door. However, some people might enjoy all the promotions they offer. Suffice it to say whether you need Singapore curry powder, a great baking spice blend, or plain old Kosher salt, you're sure to find it at Penzeys, and I believe their quality is top notch.

Penzeys Spices has a huge selection of both common and not easily found spices from around the world. Think cinnamon is just cinnamon? Nope, Penzeys has an entire section devoted to different types of cinnamon! They also have a large selection of Indian spices that we haven't been able to find in local grocery stores. In addition to single spices, Penzeys also has an assortment of spice blends that promise to enhance your home cooking. They even have jars that allow you to smell all of the different spice blends. The only downside here is that they don't sell pastes. We went in hoping to purchase curry paste and vanilla bean paste (they do have whole vanilla beans) but didn't find either.

If you're looking for a specific spice or a specialty seasoning, this is the place to shop. There's a good variety of sizes to select from. Lots of options. Parking can be a bit tough as the store is across the street from west side market.
