We came in from nyc and are so happy to have found such a cute little spot! Totally worth the drive over. Had the biscuits and gravy and the Reuben was sooo good. Service was awesome too. We got seated right away. Thank you! We will def come back.

Waited 45 minutes to be seated and they forgot. They asked for a phone number to call when the table was ready, but when we came back to check (as it had been past the amount of time we were told to wait), they forgot about us and just said we couldn’t be seated. So we left.

My rating is low due to service. Or lack of, to more exact. West side market Cafe was a favorite place for the last few years. Something to look forward to. This last visit was no difference. I was looking forward to eating there. I requested it. Walked in, got seated right away. Great! Then it all stopped. Coffee took forever to come, taking my order even longer. no flatware to use to stir my coffee. But I'm still good with it! I heart this place. Order finally taken. Now service quality changes. 45 mins after placing my order, it does not come. The table beside me, seated 15 minutes after and had minimal wait, and I mean minimal, for their items. Soft drinks served right away, alcoholic beverages served right away, and their food arrived! What?! I barely got a second cup of coffee! It may not sound like it, but I generally do not rate low or complain. However, there was a serious difference in service. We received no explanation to the wait. (Mistakes happen. Own them). Did you forget to drop the ticket? Did it get missed? Burnt? Whatever. Tell your customer you goofed up. Offer up some toast or something to snack on while waiting.... but I was left sitting there wondering. So I did something I've never done. I put a $5 bill on the table for my coffee and walked out.

When arriving with a group of 3 we were all told there would be a 25-40 min wait, so we sat outside the building waiting for a call that was wrote down. After waiting 40 mins without a call or text one of my friends went inside to check the table. She then said she “called” but no answer and that there was nothing she could do about it and we would have to wait an hour, after being told that we all went inside and asked to just be seated next since she had wrote the number down and didn’t double check to see if it was wrote down correctly. She then said “I can’t just like do that”. So at that point we asked for a manager. She went to that back after sitting a table of 4. She came back upfront without a manager and ignored and payed no attention to us. Then proceeds to call a 3 person table and a 6 person table! This was the rudest hostess Ive encountered. After waiting to see if a manger would come out while being ignored and whispered around to other coworkers by her. There continued to be nobody to talk too, we then left in a terrible mood still hungry after being excited to try this place.

There are only 3 of these markets in the USA. Great selection of produce, meats, bakery, and fish. Always fresh, it is a great place to shop. The small restaurant has a variety of food for breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious everything was fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed to start the day. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was our waitress. She was full of life and had the kind of vibrant, genuine energy that’s rare to come by these days. Her warmth and enthusiasm lit up the whole place and made the morning feel extra special. The perfect combination of great food and even better service!
I wasn’t able to get her name but she had red hair she served us at 8am Monday.
