We always try to patron independent establishments. This one did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and plentiful. We came for breakfast and will definitely be back to try a lunch.
We might have gone in a busy, or an off day. We waited on our food for awhile. There are signs talking about complaining, which are part of the nostalgia. Kinda like a diner, the place was packed. Which says a lot. Food when it came was hot and good. I would go again.
I loved this place!! I'm not local, so I wanted to experience local food. I tried The Smelvin and it did not disappoint!! I realized a few bites in that I left something in my hotel room that I just checked out of, and they held my food for me just like I asked!!! They offered to reheat it, but it was still hot!! I did add jalapenos and 2 over easy eggs. However the Smelvin (small) is easily enough for 3-4 people ? The pic I added does not do its size justice. It is bigger...
