Went here on a Friday night for their “Fish Fridays” and ordered a catfish dinner. After waiting about 30 minutes, I asked the bartender for an update and was told two orders were being made and mine was one of them.
About 35 minutes later, I asked again what the delay was. The bartender returned with another employee who explained that someone else had taken my food. I’m not sure what system is in place, but I stayed in the same seat at the bar the entire time. It doesn’t make sense that food can be handed to the wrong person—especially when customers are required to pay upfront.
They did offer to drop more fish, but at that point I didn’t want to wait any longer. The staff was clearly not prepared to handle a busy night, and there needs to be a better system for tracking orders.
The drinks are decent and fairly priced, but the food wait times are unacceptable. This is the third time I’ve waited over an hour here. This time I’m leaving a review because I didn’t even receive my food. Unfortunately, I won’t be back.

I went last Wednesday for the first time. Parking is not the best. The bartender was very nice. The chicken wings were great drinks are what you expect in a bar. There was a lady at the bar who helped me know what food was good and she was very friendly. Will come back

840 is a nice place people are nice chef Spence is a awesome cook his food is great he takes pride in what he does always gives 💯 percent very respectful and I want him to be treated with the same respect it’s very bad outside today due to the snow storm and he is running late because his life and safety comes first it’s a level 1 snow emergency today and I pray for all who employers just want them to be at work not worried about safety my God bless and keep us safe🙏🏽

I used to come in here all the time. Since they have got new owners the female bartender on weekends is rude and unprofessional. Not only does she flirt and act inappropriately with costumers, I asked her multiple times to order food and she just stared and walked away. I don’t know if she was on something or what but the service isn’t how it used to be. D, you should be more concerned about the clientele rather than taking shots and flirting with young woman at the bar.

The old wrinkled bartender was very rude. I waited two hours for a breakfast sandwiches and drinks. Then the food came out wrong twice. We didn’t say anything but when we asked for receipt she had an attitude and said I don’t have time for this stupid shit. After she said we couldn’t have a receipt until we paid. When we complained to the manager we were only offered to take off fries that we didn’t even order. Pathetic

This is a true neighborhood bar. Clean great food , especially the wings! Overall the food is top notch.the drinks are basic but with good pour and attentive bartenders. The prices are very reasonable.

Nice neighborhood bar. It reminds me of the show Cheers. There's a new owner, I got to meet her, her name is Edie. She welcomed me in, and made me aware of the things to look forward to through the week. I missed the opportunity to see the Tyson fight there, but I'll definitely be back to the 840 Lounge for sure.
I saw a review that said this place is family owned so I do hate to leave a bad review but I must be honest.The front door was locked, which made us think they were closed. We walked all the way around the building to see if there was a side door and there was- kinda. You definitely wouldnt notice it or will think its for employees only. So not very welcoming.The bar went quite when my boyfriend and I walked in; it was very unsettling. Maybe because its an older demographic of people or maybe because I was the only person of color. Hard to tell. Either way, the environment was definitely not comforting but we wanted to give it a try still and get a drink!They have limited selection. No frills. And after we ordered our drinks, we were told its cash only. I wish there was a sign that said that or we were told that before ordering. Neither of us carry cash and would have to have a fee to use the ATM.Its pretty small as well. In addition with everything else, we definitely wont be revisiting ever again. Really wanted to give a local Whitehall bar a chance!
