A close second is Chapman’s. Great setting, amazing staff, a share mission that’s much needed in the restaurant world. Sit at the bar for a la carte if a set tasting isn’t your jam and pick the brains of their truly dedicated staff. The food was fantastic. The little extras. Columbus needs much more of this, not more corporate single owner vision growth!”

“BEST PLACE EVER. I've been going to Lavash for years. My first time there, I went with a friend for my birthday in 2015 and they gave me tiramisu with a candle. Recently, I got to try baklava for the first time in my life and I'm 29 (I was told I was allergic to tree nuts when I was not). It was a truly spiritual experience eating the baklava from Lavash. The lebanese mousaka is amazing. Anyway, love this place <3”

“I started working in the area about 6 months ago and I love mom and pop diners for lunch. Since I have visited Scotty's Cafe I have been eating lunch here every day (literally 5 days a week), you can't beat the atmosphere the food is amazing and the owners are definitely one of a kind. Gina and Scotty make you feel like one of the family,the staff is amazing,and you always look forward to your next visit. Definitely a 10 out of 10 every visit.”

“We had a fantastic evening at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, Columbus! Everything was perfect from the greeters at the door, the entire wait staff, the beautiful live entertainment, the appetizers (Rachel made a suggestion for us as we couldn’t decide between two, and it was perfect - she gave us each one huge shrimp and one Oyster Rockefeller), the wedge salad (which we knew there was no way we could each eat one, so she split it for us before bringing it to our table - and the blue cheese in that dressing - OMG!!), our filets were perfectly seared and the Mac and Cheese was to die for even though we could only eat a spoonful as we were too full! The wine we chose was from Corison Winery which we visited when we were in California and met the awesome owner, Cathy Corison! We loved the wine and try to find it everywhere we go! If you haven’t tried Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Columbus, you are definitely missing out on an absolutely perfect evening and dining experience! Their attention to every little detail is amazing! Cannot wait to go back! Definitely a 5 star restaurant!”

“Walk-ins on a Saturday evening. Lucky enough to get seats at the bar. Bartender was great and extremely helpful with recommendations on the vegetarian menu. Food was excellent. Did not miss me at all. Highly recommend the glazed maitake mushrooms, roasted celery root and the grilled asparagus with the red pepper sabayon. Great place.”

What’s great about really good NATURAL food is that you notice the absence of processing and junk. It tastes better in every way. You’ll notice these are not your average dogs right away. My recommendation is to order two of each, just do it, because you’ll be sad when you run out!”

The food was fresh and delicious. We will keep this location in mind for future travel. Now if only Tennessee will get some White Castles near Knoxville, We would eat it more often.”

“We usually visit some of the local (non-chain) breakfast restaurants. Due to convenience we decided to go to IHOP. What a nice surprise. Great service, good food, place was clean. Wife ordered at bone steak & eggs breakfast, she said her steak was delicious, plus tender. I got a split decision breakfast and it was good as well.
Wife said she prefers that breakfast over anything from the local breakfast restaurants.
In short we will be back.”

“Went to the Cincinnati location and it was AMAZING! We ordered the cheddar scallion biscuits, Korean BBQ cauliflower, shrimp and grits, and the Szechwan Noodles. So much flavor in everything we tried. The wait staff was top notch. Our server Kevin was very attentive, checking on us to make sure all was ok and if we needed anything. There were also a few others that stopped by to see how we were doing and chat with us since we drove 250+ miles to eat there. They made us feel very welcome. I can’t wait to go back, it’s so worth the drive and I’m hoping they build one closer.”

The only thing I would do to improve is be better at answering the phone or have a way for me to directly order carry out online that doesn't have prices that drastically different from the menu or service fees to pick up my own food.”

“I saw it on Facebook and it's right down the street...we went...the look of the restaurant is lackluster...but baby don't judge a book by its cover...the food was absolutely delicious and the price was good...the lunch portion is huge! The staff was soooooo nice and friendly...the cook held the door open for me and he said write a review and tell them about the cook...well honey you out did yourself...me and my girlfriends go to Benihana and I pay 65.00 for what I got from there for 14.00... please redo the restaurants appearance and I will fill your place up!”

“This place came out of nowhere and has consistently gotten better. The food is fantastic, and although they got off to a rocky start in terms of service they have since improved significantly! My last visit was as good as I've ever had anywhere, and the food is absolutely fantastic!

Last visit I overheard them training a new guy in the back and instructing him to make sure the meatballs had plenty of sauce on them, which is what I want to hear!”

“I’ve had J’s Sweet Treats cakes on a number of occasions over the last few years and I’ve consistently enjoyed the cakes, thoroughly. Most recently, I contacted them for a birthday cake and they were able to accommodate me in such short notice. I sent an inspo picture and what I got in return was exactly what I asked for. My cake tasted just like I hoped and it was such a nice touch for my day and they were really able to make it special with my last minute request.

Particularly notable were the fresh corn, the scallop potatoes with jalapeños  and the brussels sprouts. Yes the steaks were very good as well, but the vegetables were outstanding.”

“McGinnis’ Grill is very good. I missed the truck downtown for lunch then realized I could get it at Budd Dairy while they’re in the Hatch spot. I had the brisket melt and it is super meaty. I only wish the bread was a Texas toast—but it’s fine the way it is ?. I’m excited to try the other sandwiches. Also the service was excellent—I forgot to say I wanted it to go and the woman at the counter flawlessly flipped everything into a box, added my napkins, asked about a fork and bagged it up in seconds—no worries.”
