“I had an excellent sushi dinner at 698 Restaurant. Although advertised as “Asian fusion” it seems to be primarily Japanese and sushi cuisine, so keep that in mind if you dine here. The staff was very courteous, warm, and welcoming, without feeling wooden or forced. Just friendly and happy folks. The host gave me several options for seating instead of just assigning me a table, which I appreciate. The waiter was relaxed and personable while being friendly. My waiter sat down in my booth while taking my order, which is very unusual but came off as a hard working server and not a rigidly controlled employee. I started with the kani salad which was larger than I expected and full of crisp greens, tasty salad dressing, a generous heap of tempura flakes, and imitation crab tossed in Kupi Mayo. Altogether, a pleasant crispy combination of crispy and creamy flavors. My sushi rolls were fresh, tasty, well seasoned, and coated with a reasonable amount of eel sauce. An excellent combination of savory, salty, creamy, and spicy flavors. Really great sushi. There was no “fishy smell” or stale taste, something people are concerned about when eating sushi in a landlocked area like Columbus Ohio. This is 5 star sushi. I must complain about the menu: is a 12 page booklet. Simply too long, too many options, and takes too long to look through. It reminds me of the grocery store aisle with 95 different types of cereal – the dining experience would be better with a 4 page menu and 1/3 as many options. The ambiance at 698 Restaurant is very tasteful and well done: dark moody atmosphere, comfy booths throughout, orange-yellow lanterns throughout the area, dark wood frames framing each area, a well-lit bar with comfy stools, squeaky clean hardwood floors, and linens made from dark, crisp, clean cloth. I would not hesitate to return here for sushi dinner any time.“

“I love supporting local restaurants and the incredible talent they bring to Columbus. I did the chef’s omakase experience and it was incredible. It was the perfect way to spend the evening, and probably the highest quality fish I’ve ever had. The chefs walked us through each piece, explained where the fish came from, and taught us about what we were eating. I ended up learning a lot, which made the experience even better.

We’re really lucky to have this level of skill and passion here in Columbus. And for a fraction of what you’d pay for a similar experience in places like New York, it’s an incredible value. I’ll definitely be back.“

“I can't say enough about our incredible experience tonight at Kona Grill. I just got diagnosed with cancer, had my first chemo last Friday and finally felt well enough to get out. I've loved Kona since the first time I came in 2003 yall. So for me it's one of my favorites. Jacquelyn and Juan could not have made my first outing post chemo/newly bald more memorable. This before they knew I had just experienced a very challenging week. That aside the food was phenomenal, I had the macadamia nut chicken and holy Hannah the dessert! Made in house and absolutely incredible. I simply can't say enough. The environment, the service, the food. Worth every moment.“

The cuts of fish were also quite thick but not too much and the flavors balanced wonderfully together. “Well we ate dinner at the feast Buffet, a new place not impressed. Some food was good but a lot of it was cold. They don't serve hot mustard for a sauce, they don't serve melted butter for crab, crispy noodles for the soups. My opinion is China Supreme Buffet is better. Seating is 4 people booths and 4 people tables, so our party of 6 can't sit together, but you can sit across the isle from each other. also charge $10.79 service fee each check (Gratuity) because there were 6 of us.“
