“Italian sub!!!!! I was torn between oak burger and Italian sub and asked bartender. Him along with 2 random people next to me all said it at same time. It was a great sub, but make sure you are hungry, it's big. Loved the atmosphere and service too.“

“I’ve never had a bad time at Eight and Sand. The food is beyond impressive and it is reasonably priced. You will not catch me missing the $1 wings every Tuesday and the veggie wrap is incredible. Don’t sleep on the weekly food specials they are always a tasty little surprise! Friendly outgoing staff all around, an awesome patio, and a chill vibe inside. It’s my very favorite bar, there isn’t another like it!“

“Taco Tuesday goes down. My aunt wanted o celebrate her birthday here so we went on a Tuesday for the taco salad which is only served on Tuesday. I ordered the shrimp and chicken taco bowl it was good. It was alot of food for me so I had to munch on the taco bowl over time. The atmosphere was cool the music was r&b and hip hop. They have a patio where most of the smokers of the group hung out. Definitely get here early if you are ordering food because it gets packed quickly.“

“My husband and I ate at Downtown Tavern (Hydeout Kitchen and Bar) twice while we were visiting Columbus. We both had Smash burgers the first visit. My husband had French fries with his sandwich and I had sweet potatoe fries with mine. The second time my husband had the Italian sausage and peppers and I had the fish sandwich with tavern fries and coleslaw. The food was really good and the service was okay. My only complaint about this restaurant was the type of music they had playing (hip hop) and the volume level. It was too loud and made it difficult to have a conversation.“

“Decided to try another tavern spot since the main spots I wanted to try were closed.

Asked the waiter for recommendations and she gave me a blackberry rhubarb lemonade vodka, a soup of the week which was a light cheesy broccoli soup, and a sweet sugary bacon burger that hit the spot!

The drink had a little fizz and was a nice way to get a little buzz at 2pm.

The soup was actually quite lovely! I feel like I could’ve had a full portion and feel absolutely rejuvenated for the rest of my day.

The burger was pretty good! I’m not a huge bacon in my burger person but the sweetens of the bacon paired really well with the Swiss cheese burger. Having chips and salsa instead of fries as the side was also interesting and added another layer to my taste buds.

Service was a bit slow, especially since the place was mostly empty - but I think in a way this comes with the charm of the place. I wonder how it would change if the place was completely packed - and it definitely has the space and TV screens to make that a reality!

“The server we had was incredible. His name was Jason and he made our experience at the restaurant/bar very enjoyable. The place was pretty busy and he was only server behind bar as well as waiting tables and running food to customers. He was so pleasant and genuine and didn't appear to be frazzled or stressed at all about being pulled in many different directions.
The food was also very good. The burgers to salads and dessert were excellent.

I also spoke with a supervisor on the phone by the name of Megan who was lovely.
It is refreshing to encounter people who are so kind actually care.

“Came on a Sunday. Craving a pulled pork sandwich and Blarney Stone offered theirs. The sandwich was brought out with an excellent portion of pulled pork with an added "smashed" finish. This made the taste even better. The cole slaw was also quite delicious.
