Unique location! (In an alley, in a small former house, with every indoor and outdoor space utilized) We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, wine, and ambiance. Easy to see why reservations are a must!! We will dine here again. Our server Andrew and manager Drew, were very knowledgeable and attentive.

A fallen star. Basi used to be a top Columbus spot, I’d take my family there when they visited and recommend it to my out of town friends. But now it just an over priced Italian joint that’s maybe one level above Olive Garden. Praying that they course correct soon and get back on track.

Basi is always an incredible dining experience. Don't skip the Zucchini Pronto, ever. The menu is small, but every dish is executed to perfection.

Everything was tasty, especially the zucchini starter and the focaccia with truffle oil. Cozy patio and nice atmosphere. Can’t wait to try more next time!

Delicious! The zucchini starter was our favorite part, definitely recommend that. The artichoke starter also looked delicious, will be trying that next time we go. The focaccia bread with truffle oil that they bring out is also amazing, so unique, unlike any focaccia I’ve ever had. For mains we got the shrimp risotto special (which was just okay), and the eggplant parmesan (which was good). The patio ambience was quaint and cozy.

What A great neighborhood restaurant with a beautiful covered patio space in the back. The complimentary bread service to start with was phenomenal. We shared five appetizers - mussels, artichoke carpaccio, zucchini, Parmesan brûlée, caesar salad - and they were all great. Everyone loved their pastas, while I went with the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend Basi Italian!

Wonderful evening!
Its been 20 years, but Basi still exceeds all expectations. MJ provided fabulous service. The Parmesan brulee was decadent, though you will need more crostinis. The lamb and eggplant parm were amazing. The special was a pork chop. It was a bit dry, but the mashed potatoes with fennel made up for it.
I highly recommend the sangria, especially paired with the patio and people watching.
I will not wait another 20 years til my next visit.

A gem of a restaurant tucked in Victorian village. The season menu is always full truly unique dishes. Most recently we enjoyed the grilled artichoke app and the maple chicken ravioli. We love coming here, especially in the summer to enjoy the patio. Great cocktails also!

This is a very special place for casual yet upscale Italian food. Creative takes on most things on the menu. I guess our favorite is their gnocchi but eggplant parmesan, zucchini salad, lamb does not disappoint. The intimate setting in a small house in the heart of Victorian Village a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of high street makes it perfect for a date night or small group gathering

We had an awesome experience at Basi Italia! The atmosphere is truly so dreamy out on the patio, the service is really great and food comes out fast- their dishes are playful with truly fantastic flavors! I will say that I think if they were able to make their pasta fresh from scratch in house, that would definitely bring their pasta game to the next level- overall, a neighborhood gem!

Great service. Superb cuisine (mussels, beet salad, scallops, gnocchi, desserts). Would return often if I lived in Columbus. Second visit (Aug '25): was disappointed. It did not live up to our '23 visit. Mussels were the skimpiest I've ever had. The branzino dish was disappointing too.
