Food is good but service is inconsistent. Some chefs put way more effort into their shows but also the earlier in the day months fresher the chefs will be.
We had a chef named Devante. He is one of the best chefs you have at that Polaris Benihana location. He is not only friendly, but does an excellent job at hibachi cooking. Our server was also friendly and very nice. I do not recall her name. We had a great experience and very much enjoyed having the new $50 birthday card which takes care of a very nice meal. We appreciate Benihana restaurants very much.
We had such a fun experience and we absolutely loved Chul as our chef! We want to have him next time we come as well! Thank you so much Chul for the delicious food, your energetic presence and your on point comedic timing! My family and I had the best time!
The reason why this is not a five star review is because the price is so much more expensive than any other Japanese steakhouse in Columbus, Ohio. Depending on the chef he gets the quality sometimes is a miss smash. It can be good if you have a good chef and it could be too salty. If you don't have a good chef, but overall my experience yesterday was a good experience but we will not be going back unless we have a $30 off birthday certificate. Because it is just gotten too expensive without drinks it is over $100 for two of us.
It took over an hour to get a chef after walking in the door, even though we had a reservation. The host blamed it on a “party of 14 that said they had a reservation but didn't.” Tha didn't make sense to me, as you should make people without a reservation wait behind, not jump in front of, those of us with confirmed reservations. Chef said he was tired. It was lackluster, and incredibly expensive for the experience we received.
This was one of the most disappointing meals I have experienced. The service was incredibly slow, refills were slow to come, we were seated 20 minutes after our scheduled reservation, our “first course” came out before drinks, the initial order was taken incorrectly for our hibachi dinner. Our hibachi chef was fine, no enthusiasm or entertainment provided. The Up-charge of $7 for fried rice at a Japanese steakhouse is insane. For a party of 4 people, no alcoholic drinks, two smoothies plus tip was $216. There are many other restaurants I would be happy spending that kind of money at, and would not have thought twice. Save your money and time. Visit a non-chain Japanese steakhouse. You will be happier, and your wallet will thank you.
Highly overpriced, dirty and under staffed. We had to wait at the table for over an hour to begin the experience without anyone talking to us about anything. It was over $300 for 6 people to eat off the basic menu. Lackluster “chef” who didn't have enough food for the table. Got shorted on shrimp. Avoid it if you can. There are other options.
Made a reservation and still didn't get to our table until about 45 minutes after the reservation. Took 2.5 hours from when we got there to finish up our meal. Our chef was great and gave a great experience but service overall was poor and delayed in most aspects. With prices as high as they are now spend it somewhere else!
Plates were dirty at our table but thankfully there was extras so we switched them. Service was a bit slow as it was early afternoon and not yet dinner time. Server wasn't very attentive and let my drink sit empty for about 10 minutes at one point. Our chef was great, very entertaining and food was wonderful. Thankfully we had rewards otherwise $95 for chicken/rice for 2 wouldn't have been worth the expense.
We waited over an hour for service after being seated and receiving our drinks. What was intended to be a pleasant evening out with my fiancé ultimately ended with us leaving, as no explanation or further service was provided during that time.

We had a new years eve reservation. We were sat at our table 1 hour after our reservation time (no one had updated us at check in they were running behind). Our party did not receive all the drinks or correct orders and we often went gaps in between servers checking on us. We were there in total for 3 hours and it did not feel like we were a priority.
Last time we went we waited over an hour to be seated from our original reservation time. This last time we ordered food to go and got it 35 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. We ordered soup and they didn’t have any so they gave us none even though we paid for it and they didn’t refund us. Horrible customer service experience.

Way over priced for the quality of food and small portions. Shrimp was low quality small shrimp that dint really have any flavor. In no sane world should it ever be acceptable to charge for fried rice at a hibachi resultant as this should just be standard. Our chef was amazing (other service in general was lacking) but in the end he is only as good as his ingredients. I have always wanted to try Benihana because of the name recognition, but it’s clear that is what you are paying for not the low quality food. Will never be returning.
