The chicken and waffles with strawberries and powdered sugar brought tears to my eyes. God bless this place.

Now I came here yesterday and today… in efforts to follow them from their last location because I had a great brunch experience with them and wanted to come back for the shrimp and grit with my husband. We really like the owner and had great conversation but this is now 2 days in a row that the location that is being advertised is not open…. Not a car in sight and Im honestly very disappointed… I will not be trying to again to come back and support this black owned business because this is very unprofessional and it now make sense why they have so many horrible reviews. They have a facebook page about event but their hours never match up… Brunch was supposed to be at 11 and its noon now… but google says they are open… I know the food is great but the professionalism is Wack yall have to do better if you want your business to thrive… wish you the best though

This lady can cook, ok! Location was a little confusing but the service, food, and atmosphere def made up for it. The seafood mac was bomb. Greens didn't even need hot sauce and i literally put hot sauce on everything, so this is sayin a lot. Wings were cooked perfect, not those big jumbo wings a lot of places have.. and the spicy carolina sauce is off the chain. Will be back again!! Wow! ?

When we came to this place it was like they weren’t even prepared to open very unprofessional to the point we didn’t even see anything worth taking the chance in and we got up and left. Low and behold we see they are now closed. NOT SURPRISED!The women who ran this seem like the place was some dope boys cover up business. They don’t know how to run a business. I wouldn’t call this a good black owned business. All business ain’t good business.

Took my best friend here for brunch to celebrate her birthday and I’m embarrassed I chose this place because the service was terrible, it took forever for someone to take our drink order, then it took forever for someone to take our food order. We were there for 3 hours and majority of that time was spent waiting. Then my food came, I specifically told the waitress please no fruit on my waffles, the waffle comes out hard as a brick, with fruit on it, and it’s cold. My chicken had powdered sugar sprinkled all over it instead of on the waffle. Disappointing

My husband and I went here for a day date - The food, service, and atmosphere were great! We had the shrimp & grits and the fish & grits and both dishes were very good. We also got a cup hookah that we were able to take home with us for $25. We were there from about 2-4pm and the vibe was pretty chill. They have a jukebox and we were able to play the music we like which created a good vibe. The bartender/waitress and the owners were very polite, helpful, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. We will definitely visit again.

I would give 0 stars if possible. The waitress were completely rude. Gave us half filled water and charged for bottle water if you do not want sink water. Their alcohol is extremely over priced, champagne was flat as it was opened days previous and not sealed, have mimosas but do not specify flavors. The shrimp and grits came out with 2 shrimp and had hair in the meal. so we gave order back to replace the order with the whiting fish, and of course it was ice cold, and the whiting had bones in it as it was not filleted AT ALL. Managers were extremely rude and did not want to help. Manager i spoke with called me stupid and said i didn’t know what i was talking about after giving respect and professionalism. Horrible family owned business who DOES NOT have any morals or conscious values. Not surprised from the other bad reviews at all

Came here specifically for one food item seen on Google maps. I believe those were older photos now because what we were served was not the same. Everything tasted fine it just missed our expectations. Service was a little slow but everyone was friendly, they may have more help for busier times as there seemed to only be two ladies working the front. On a side note, We almost didn't stop at all given that the place identifies as a bunch of alphabet and superficial stuff instead of just trying to identifying as a good business but hey to each their own.Kid-friendliness: They didn't seem to mind that I had teens with me. It was daytime but it's still a bar type place.

My girlfriends and I split the entire brunch menu and each chose a craft cocktail. EVERYTHING is good and I highly recommend picking out something from the drink menu. The staff is great, really responsive and friendly. Street parking.

The amazing lady in the kitchen cooked up the best chicken and waffles I've had probably ever. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfect and the waffles were warm and soft all throughout. Was a little pricey for lunch but I'd rather support a small neighborhood business than a chain restaurant. Will definitely be back, hope they get a little bit more beer to choose from.

Very nice spot. Food is very good and service was very friendly and welcoming. My only “minor” complaint is we were not told the card machine to pay the bill was broken until it was time to pay. We were advised it was cash only but there was an ATM machine if we needed to withdrawal cash. Of course we would have had to pay ATM fees so the next alternative was to cash app the owner, which we chose to do. I barely use cash app but was able to move money. However, my friend planned to use a Visa GC she had and was unable to. The card machine being broken happens but we should have been told this ahead of time to prevent inconvenience. Otherwise food was great and I would recommend.

This place was not what I expected at all. The food was less than average at best.. I cook better at home.. service was cool. And it did have a decent BAR atmosphere.. which is the issue.. I didn't expect it to be a bar.. I feel like they should stick to bar food.. oh and they ran out of Jack Daniels...

Recently visited Beyond the brix on a Saturday around 5pm. They were still serving brunch which was a delight had the grits and fish. The food was delicious seasoned well. The drinks were nice and strong. The establishment was very clean. They didn’t have music playing which was okay but I did learn that they offer a comedy show on Tuesday evenings. The owner was friendly as well Shante’ I believe that’s her name. She did come talk to us and gave us some history on her establishment. I definitely will return in the future to catch the evening vibe. I do recommend visiting this establishment.

My friends and I were excited to try this spot because we’ve heard some great things about it. we tried to get in last year but it was extremely packed so in my mind that is a good sign. Unfortunately I’m not sure if they focus on brunch as much as they used to. Another reviewer pointed out, the menu was extremely limited and for a brunch spot they didn’t offer coffee or tea which was a surprise. Shrimp and grits, fish and grits, chicken and waffles, and I believe a side of something I can’t remember what it was. I feel like the drinks we received were a bit overpriced for the liquor included but I know bars are in the business to make money. We all ordered something different with hopes of sampling each other’s food, but, unfortunately I was underwhelmed with my meal as were the rest of my party, so it wasn’t as exciting to try something different as we were hoping it would be. I would say that this is a nice location and it seems like they would have a pretty good bar crowd. As far as brunch I would say there are other options in the Columbus area that are much better. As always, support local businesses and I look forward to possibly trying this place in the evening so I can enjoy their bar and nightlife.

I love new some good chicken and waffles but this place was a joke. First when l walked in Flys were everywhere, and it smelled like burnt grease. I was reluctant to order. Still l did only to receive party wings over a soft Belgium waffle. The chicken so burnt and overly seasoned l threw up in my mouth. This is high blood pressure and stroke waiting to happen. The waffle had confectioners sugar in it also which was even more unappealing. The were overpriced and couldn't even give a quality meal.. They ONLY were taking cash or cash app which l thought to be very unprofessional being a bar and restaurant.. I had the audacity to tip this business because that the correct thing to do but baby will l never return.
