I am writing this comment as a Turk. It was the worst service experience I've ever had in my life. The food was burnt, the waiter was not interested, even the owner of the place is a short woman. When we sat at the table, she did not even bring bread and oil and was not friendly. I even went and bought the food containers myself for to go. It is a disgusting place and a terrible experience. The food and service are bad, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Wow, I don't eat out often but the difference in the last time I ate here (before the closed in patio) and today, is astounding. First, I loved the Arrugula Salad with grilled chicken. This time, NO Arrugula salad so I got a mixed green salad with grilled Salmon. The salmon was so over cooked it was like leather, no flavor and the salad was overcome by a bad lemon dressing. My friends grilled shrimp was also overcooked. So disappointingly bad. The server also carried around a squawking device that was so loud, I don't know how he could hear our order. I don't know if I'll ever go back.

I grew up two blocks away from this location. I have consistently enjoyed my dining experience at Cafe Istanbul for years. Usually, the food and service are top-notch. Unfortunately, my last dining experience at the Bexley location failed to meet my expectations. Upon entry, I waited 3 minutes to be acknowledged by two staff members who were seated mere feet away from me at the bar. I chose to maintain a positive outlook and sat inside when prompted by the host/server. He disappeared for some time before returning with water and asking my order. I ordered my usual (Sultan's Favorite) and waited patiently for him to return with the fresh bread and oil that is standard to the dine-in experience. I had not eaten all day and was ravenous by 4 PM. Approximately 15-20 minutes passed without visit from the server. My water glassed remained unfilled the duration of my visit. He finally return with the bread and the meal at the same time. I prefer to enjoy my bread before my entree to prevent the main course from cooling while I eat the bread. Due to the timing on his end, this was not possible. I enjoyed the food with no complaint, as it was delicious. Mid way through the meal an incessant beeping began. I am sensitive to harsh, jarring sound and could not enjoy my meal with the blaring noise. The same man who failed to greet me upon entry sat at the bar on his phone/tablet and allowed the beeping to continue without addressing the egregious disturbance. The beeping continued for minutes on end until a man from the kitchen appeared and noticed my discomfort. He addressed the beeping from the serving system and went back to the kitchen. I sincerely appreciated his consideration. I resumed eating and finished my meal without being checked on by my original server. I would have asked him to address the noise had he appeared. He did not. Finally, a woman checked on me and asked if I needed a box. I said yes before the server returned and asked me the same questions. The two did not communicate well and repeatedly asked me the same questions. I expressed my concerns regarding the disappointing service to the woman, and she told me, "It is not the service, we have a new system." She then asked me if I had ever worked in the service industry before. I thought the question incredibly inappropriate; however, I answered in the affirmative, as my previous work experience informed my understanding of the poor operation of the establishment. Generally, I felt neglected as a guest relative to the other parties dining outside. I am deeply disappointed and hope to see great improvement before I will consider dining at Cafe Istanbul again.

The food wasn’t good at all, I’m really disappointed, doner and knafe was the worst I never tried something this terrible before. The price is horrible, really expensive. And the service is so-so the workers weren’t professional at all.

Value one star. Changed my lunch plans when I saw they abandoned their reasonably priced lunch menu. Refuse to pay dinner prices when a lunch menu was offered. Expensive lunch spot. Be aware.
