Amazing experience here! We sat at the bar and the food was flavorful, and lively. Sean served us creative, complex cocktails. I mean truly memorable. Think you've had a good mojito? Try one here. Seriously, any of Sean's creations will engage flavors in a rare and elevated way. I don't think I've had a better cocktail experience.

The chefs menu in the private room is something you have to experience and if possible, do it with a group of friends. We had the best time and the food was incredible. The service was outstanding and getting the explanations of each dish from the chef was great. Can’t wait to come back and try this again!

Chapman's is always our favorite restaurant to go to for special occasions. The wine list is always fantastic and the food is unbelievable. This is the first time we did a full tasting menu and we were so glad we did. Each course was amazing and well curated to the theme. The service is the best in town and the decor is everything I dream of for my own home! So glad we have Chapman's in Columbus.

I've long been a fan of Chapman's but they're going in an absolute terrible direction right now and I truly hope they're able to get back to where they were. The only option for dinner at the moment is a tasting menu which is inspired by the flavors of Virginia/Appalachia. Dinner last night take 3 1/2 hours (which in itself if enough for me to not come back but there were other issues). The first course is a ham biscuit which would be a great breakfast but is a terrible app. You're basically full after the first course. From there you get three more individual apps and it's the most hodge podge collection of subpar weirdness you can imagine. The gazpacho is visually pretty and a good flavor. The crab roll is legitimately bad. It's crab salad (think crab mixed with mayo) and bacon wrapped inside seaweed like it's sushi. It was not good. Lastly, my entree, which the server categorizad as "hearty" (chicken and dumplings) was a bowl of chicken stock with a single soggy dumpling and 5-6 pieces of undercooked root vegetables. Service and atmosphere was great but dining format and food was atrociously awful. We had no alcohol and it was $300 with too for 2 people. Who wants to come back and do that again after they did it once? It's an awful business strategy and an subpar experience. We used to come here for delicious, elevated dining and drinking where you could pass fantastic bowls of beautiful food between friends. That was fun. This is not. Hope you all are listening to feedback and don't ruin a good thing by sticking to this new format and menu.

Love visiting Chapmans whenever we can get in! It's such a popular spot in German village that you are best off by booking a reservation 1 month ahead of the day you want to visit. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, every item is awesome and so are the drinks!

Such a beautiful space with talented mixologists behind the bar.

The New York Times rated Chapmans in the top 50 best restaurants in the country. It is only one of six restaurants selected in the Midwest. They offer a pre-fixe menu with seasonal changes. Seasonal globally inspired comfort food highlight their offerings. It is one of the hardest tables to acquire so reservations are highly suggested. The reservation list starts at the beginning of the month. While in Columbus, Ohio, a friend and colleague made reservations for a Friday dinner. This restaurant is located in the quaint German Village. The interior is cozy with a bar area, bookshelves and mood lighting. I am going to sum up the entire food experience as memorable, delicious and satisfying. Each course was exceptional. We began with the Focaccia bread with salted butter and truffle followed by clam soffrito with white wine and parsley. My main entre was the wagyu, pate a choux with pickled peppers. We finished with Yuzu Key Lime Pie. As stated before, it was a memorable meal.

An amazing dining experience! Great cocktails and we thoroughly enjoyed all six of the courses with the tasting menu!

Good service and nice staff. Food is okay and a good experience to do maybe once. If new in town it’s definitely not on my list to recommend. Not even in German village. The price point for their food and drink are on the higher end plus the “Wellness Fee” added on to your total bill and it adds up. It’s called PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES a living wage. I recommend going to Lindy’s or Cento down the street over this place. Same price point and better food.

Not impressed. $350 + bill for an overly salted “fish and chips” style “sea bass” that could have easily passed for cod. How they receive such high praise is a mystery with so many other great options in Columbus at this ultra high premium price point.

After reading reviews and hearing from friends/coworkers about Chapman's.. I don't get it. We were SEVERELY underwhelmed. Underwhelmed by the quality and taste of the food, the atmosphere, even the service. I was told we needed to make a reservation ahead of time for our table of 4 or else we wouldn't get a table- which is true. Every table was full on Tuesday. Immediately when we walked into Chapman's, the air smelled like luke-warm raw fish. Before they even told you there was fish on their menu or it was a special, we smelt it. And it was hard to smell the entire time we were there trying to enjoy our food. The menu is definitely created for the foodies and those who wanted to explore and explosion of taste and variety. I am one of those people- but I wish there was a "safe" menu item for those who didn't. Portions were underwhelming or slightly on the smaller side. You're telling me 3 wings for $18? They were burnt when they came out. Lamb chops were $60 for 4 pieces. I promise you it wasn't anything to ride home about- they were soggy and not grilled or charred. Friends got an Asian noodle bowl which lacked spice and flavor. Giving 2 starts because we enjoyed getting a warm rag to clean our hands after dinner table side, and their wine/cocktail menu was great. After an appetizer, 1 entree to share, a side, and splitting a bottle of wine with another couple (cheapest red they had), our bill was over $200 for 2. Extremely overpriced for a place that smelled like a fish market. The good news is- they rotate their menus every so often! So given the benefit of the doubt- possibly there's something there that would tickle your fancy.

So disappointing! For the first course, the fish bites came out ice cold. The main course was described as sea bass wrapped in a yukon potato skin. I was served a salty deep fried piece of fish (who would suggest deep frying sea bass?). It was so salty and inedible. my husband and I spent $350 for a prefix menu of food that half was inedible due cold and over-salted food. We will never go back.

Just OK. Service was pretty good, wine parings were OK, but no finish (they were supposed to end with a bubbly brut… didn’t get it). Desert was not my thing (I guess if you like key limes you would enjoy it). Tables were really close together in our section, so not really able to have private dinner, people within two feet on both sides. It’s fine, we met some nice people. I hear their Hamburger is really good. Maybe just try the bar and a la cart sometime?
