We visited this restaurant for first time last night. Unfortunately, it is not a place we would love to return.
It is an elegant place, neat and the waiters are attentive and polite.
However, everything is extremely rushed which is disappointing. French dining is slow with plenty of time between courses which does not happen here. The waiter was trying to get our plates before we had even finished our courses. We ordered cocktails with a dessert at the end. The cocktails were served long time after the dessert and we were asked if we really wanted it. We felt they wanted us out as soon as possible.
The worst part was that our main courses were served lukewarm and the sauces did not taste right at this temperature. The last disappointment came with the dessert. They forgot to flambé the crepes as they should which is part of the experience. Again, we had to eat them almost cold.
I can definitely say they use high quality ingredients for their dishes. However, it is sad they prefer to rush things and serve these dishes lukewarm or relatively cold because they don’t taste as they should.
Overall mediocre experience for these reasons but it is very easy for them to improve since their recipes are more than decent.
Went once for drinks and the bar was a great experience— small plates, cocktails, and excellent wine. Went again for Sunday brunch and if you have two hours to spare for a mediocre $30 salad, then this is your place. Ended up getting my salad to go because I had no idea a not-so-busy Sunday would mean a 2 hour+ dining experience. Very slow.

My wife and I were really looking forward to this experience as it was out anniversary and we decided to spend it here. And I have to be honest the experience was inconsistent. I ordered the lobster linguine and it was tasty but served downright cold. Ditto for my wife’s selection which was the coc a vin. Now the food came to us literally five min after we ordered, and yet it came out cold, hm. Not bad as far as it went but how much can one appreciate cold food thats not steak tartare? Also last I heard crepes suzette are served hot and flambés. Nope, cold for us. Come on man, for what we paid? Honestly the experience was quite a letdown. Ill be generous and assume it was an off Saturday night but three is the best I can do.

So delicious. Martinis were perfection. Lobster linguine had great flavor. Obsessed with the escargot. 10/10 recommend. Service great too!

We went for an our anniversary and this was such a let down. The food was served barely warmed up. The service was poor as well. The best part was the bread and the green beans. I had hear so many mixed reviews and am so disappointed in the lackluster experience. While it looks nice on the outside, they need to focus on bringing out the flavors of the food and serving actual hot plates instead of cold steak. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

I gave this overpriced "fancy" restaurant a second chance, and it was a mistake. The food was subpar at best—bland, poorly executed, and definitely not worth the steep prices. The service was just as disappointing, with the waitstaff having a condescending attitude, though the hostess was kind. I won’t be returning.

The food was great, the bistro is beautiful but the service was outstanding! My lunch companion & I were there for a chatty, catch "me up on your life" lunch. Braylin was attentive but not hovering, timing of food delivery was spot on. The finishing touch of labeling & dating of leftover boxes was an impressive touch.

The manager Jen is so professional and amazing. And our server Jon (Jonathan) was amazing as well. Will 100% be back. Highly recommend.

Incredibly high expectations for an amazing meal that fell flat. After being out of multiple items on the food and wine menu on a Saturday evening at 7, we felt like we were at amateur hour. The steak tartar was very good. The cheeses were served way too cold. Steak was just ok, but the fries were a soggy mess. The Mac and Cheese was just ok as the pasta was mush. The French onion soup was too salty to eat. Desserts were unimpressive, but passable. We couldn’t wait to finish, pay and get a great cocktail across the street at Citizens Trust. I do hope this was just an off-night as I’d love a great French restaurant downtown to succeed!

We sat at the bar, had a wonderful dinner and great service. Ambiance is classy, modern, and cozy. All the dishes were elevated and well executed. Olives were baked with rosemary and orange, and the steak frites with au poivre was amazing. The bread service was a nice touch too. Definitely will be back.

Overall quite disappointed. Food was average and overpriced. Showed up early for our reservation and still had to wait 20 min past the scheduled time, host was obviously in a poor mood, and we were seated in a cramped section with servers walking past all night. Looked around the restaurant and honestly not sure any of the tables had a nice ambiance. Maybe upstairs or the outdoor patio (if there were heaters). Bread didn’t come until after our appetizers, our order was not coursed out, and wine glasses were very over poured. We ordered the steak frites and this was the ultimate letdown - our $150 steak was overcooked, the fries were cold, and the Bernaise sauce was broken. Would probably only return for wine/cocktails and maybe some French onion soup at the bar.

Upon visiting Chouette I had hoped for a delightful culinary experience, but unfortunately, my visit was marked primarily by mediocrity and unfulfilled expectations.
To begin with, the appetizers set a tone of mediocrity, providing an acceptable but far from memorable start to the meal. The steak tartare and cheese selections, while adequately prepared, did little to excite the palate.
The onion soup was disappointingly overly salted, overwhelming the intended flavors and making it difficult to enjoy. Moving on to the mac and cheese, I found it lacking any distinct flavor. It was disappointingly plain, prompting me to request salt and pepper from the server in an attempt to salvage the dish.
The fries were notably poor, lacking the expected crisp texture and flavor. As for the steak, despite being cooked to the expected level, it arrived at the table regrettably cold, detracting from the enjoyment of what could have been a highlight of the meal.
Desserts offered no improvement as they were acceptable but hardly memorable or worth a mention, leaving me with an overall feeling of disappointment.
In conclusion, Chouette may cater to those content with a standard and unremarkable meal, but for those seeking a noteworthy dining experience, it falls short. Service was neutral and did not compensate for the culinary shortcomings, making it hard to justify a return visit.
