Delish! The Staff Member we had, didn't know much about Oysters. Lol So we asked for Best Sellers. He gave us Mintersweet (WA), Fiddle Heads (MA) & Island Pearls (NE). All 3 had Different & Unique Flavor! We also tried the Jumbo Shrimp. You Can't Beat the Prices during their Happy Hour!

If you want fresh seafood in Ohio you come to COLO! The oysters were exceptional and they explained all six different ones. And then I had the fish and chips with grouper and a cup of the lobster bisque. Their fish is breaded very lightly so you can taste the freshness of the fish with hand cut fries the lobster bisque was so creamy and buttery it was amazing. Go here now...

Came to the North Market looking for a good sandwich for my lunch. I got the spicy Italian beef sandwich with fries. It was yummy. My only suggestion is to do a little less lettuce on the sandwich so you can better taste the other ingredients in it. The lettuce was a little overpowering. Overall it was still good and I look forward to coming back and trying something new.

My husband and I just visited for the first time because he’s been looking for steelhead or pacific salmon. We were waiting for the young lady with the purple hair, black skull cap and colorful septum to complete the customer in front of us order then she went to weigh it, bag it and ring the customer up. When it was our turn, we approached the counter and I said “hello we would like fresh salmon”. I looked to my husband to ask which one he would prefer, therefore he stepped up to inform the young lady he wanted 2lbs of steelhead. When he approached the counter she threw her hands in our face and told us to “step back and dogs are not allowed” after that, she told us to move to the said while she helped the other customers. I watched her be polite and smile with others. The man approached with our salmon and she left the register so he completed our order and rang us out. He was wearing a black skull cap, black hoodie and black pants, he was very polite. I tipped him $10 and thanked him for his pleasant customer service then informed him of the rudeness we received from the young lady with purple hair and he stated he would address it. Even if dogs were not allowed although there were others with their dogs on a leash, she could have informed us in a nice manner.

I need to preface that I am not a huge seafood lover, especially oysters... this trip was for my husband. This is such a great find for New Englanders who somehow have made it to Ohio ;-). We sat at the counter and order one of each of the daily oysters and some shrimp cocktail. My husband enjoyed all offerings (I tried one).. and boy were they fresh -- so fresh, there was a live stowaway (see associated picture). The shrimp were very large, and tasty - with the cocktail sauce not having too much horseradish. Overall, I enjoyed my portion, and we will definitely comeback for more half shells!

COLO Market and Oyster Bar is located on North Market, which is a cool venue of small restaurant stalls. COLO was having an afternoon happy hour special for raw oysters, so I couldn't turn that down! The oysters were super fresh and mainly from the northeast. My co-worker had a lobster roll with fries and she said it was delicious! The seating area is a small bar table that can probably fit a max of ten people. Will be back again when I'm in the Columbus area!

Best fish and chips I've had. The fish is fresh and the fries are amazing. Looking forward to my next trip to Columbus to enjoy again.

When I was trying to find a place where to eat before heading to the market I did not see COLO Butcher & Deli. This other section of COLO is right across the COLO Oyster Bar. I tried the Ohio wagyu spicy burger and the braised beef sandwich with a side of fries each. The fries were crispy and nicely salted. The burger was perfect! Not too spicy, and super flavorful. The braised beef sandwich was good too, but I was glad I split half with my partner because it can get a little too rich. I took the meat off the bun and ate it with fries. If the burger and the sandwich were this good, I cannot imagine what the lobster roll must be like on the seafood side. Keeping it on my list for next time I’m near DT Columbus.

I will give this location 5 stars every single time!! They are friendly, the staff is knowledgeable, and their portions and prices are more than reasonable! They are one of the inky places in Columbus with a delicious lobster roll. They blow all the cousin Maine chains and everywhere else out of the water! They PACK your roll or Mac and cheese with lobster. They're never stingy- the fries are perfectly seasoned and crispy also. I ALWAYS recommend buying your oysters and scallops here too, same price as giant eagle or any other store, but they fly their seafood fresh and never frozen. We are so lucky to have such a great place for seafood so close to home.

We visited here for the first time for lunch, and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were blown away by the incredible quality of the food and service! James took the time to chat with us, asked our tastes, and proudly told us about how they procure the best fresh oysters. We ordered the lobster Bisque and had a dozen oysters, 2 of each variety they had. James shucked them after we ordered (also making sure to clean out the shell pieces) and the freshness is undeniable in the flavors! This is the best raw oyster bar in Columbus!!! Thank you James, we can't wait to come back!!

The lobster roll I had was good, I think it needs a little more seasoning then it would be awesome! Just my opinion. I will definitely be going back.

I didn’t think the Connecticut lobster roll would be as tasty as it is. I thought it would be one of those places that serves you a small amount of lobster and charge you a high price. Nope! Colo gives you an abundance of fresh, lobster meat. The ratio of lobster to bread was pretty even. Lobster was not dry but moist and buttery. The clam chowder was good but some of the clams weren’t cleaned all the way, there was still sand in them. It gave the soup a more grainy taste. Unfortunately, I’ll have to knock off a star due to the soup. Service was great though.
