Very old German club that offers excellent dining to the public. Breakfast is a little more than some places but worth every penny!

Best Rueben in town for sure. The prime rib is also very good. Service is great. Atmosphere feels like you're in a German home very cozy

We always seek out non- corporate restoration. We found this gem and visited for brunch. The food is elegant but comfortable by just delicious. You have to try the breakfast mustard. We will return

Not able to make it to Deutschland? Don't sweat it, Valter's is the stateside equivalent. The tentative staff will make you feel like you were in a restaurant right in the heart of Berlin. Valter himself came to the table and made sure the food and beer were perfect. Great staff, beer and food!

Great German beer selection on tap in Munchen Oktoberfest size mugs (1 liter, aka ein mass) and good German food, veal Jägerschnitzel, etc.

Valters is the best. Best thing I can say about Valters is it is one of the very few places I go anymore where the staff seems happy to be working there. The brunch is unbeatable, but dinner is great too especially the appetizers and the schnitzel. Ravioli great as well. All around great spot, great staff, and the type of owner you're happy to support. Thanks Valter!!!

Valter is a stellar businessman and gentleman. Great guy. We were big fans of Jimmy Vs down the block when Valter owned it. We followed him to the Maennerchor. I'll admit, I don't dine here more than a couple times a year, but it is always consistently good. My favorites are the Jäegermeister wings, the German bologna sandwich and the spaetzel and schnitzel. The German potato salad is great too. The Maennerchor is a German Village landmark. Going to the building itself is worth it. Combine with some German-Albanian food seals the deal.

I had brunch here a couple months ago for my birthday. My first impressions were that the building looks inviting, which gets even better when you go to the interior and see the wood-paneling and various crests of the German states. No doubt that the original Maennerchor members would find a lot that they recognize about Valters. Since we were there for breakfast, I would say that that part of the menu leans way more American than straight up German. Not that it was a bad thing at all. My husband and I really enjoyed splitting a huge skillet of sausage, potatoes, and cheese with fried eggs on top, as well as a stack of pancakes. The latter had a nice bit of crispiness on the outside, but the inside was nice and fluffy. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view of German Village, and our service was prompt and professional. I enjoyed my first visit and look forward to returning for dinner sometime.

The meal was absolutely fantastic. Quaint brick German style home, turned into a fantastic restaurant with heated outdoor covered seating . Space was beautiful and clean Our server, Brandon, took maybe 3 minutes to get to us but still apologized for a delay, though he didn't need to! One of the best Sunday Brunches. (Oh, and the breakfast mustard is a mustget, lol get it? Mustard.

Mostly undiscovered by the masses, unique in all of its splendor of German-influenced menu and choral environment, while perfectly located for all to venture and find. So glad it isn't overly crowded with a line wrapped around the building (yet) for dinner hours. Perfect place for a courageous first date, where you discover everything about the person across from the table from you, if you elect to seat yourself in the upstairs dining room where you can literally hear a pin drop. If you want to break the ice quickly and uncover the real personality of your S/O, otherwise waver in excruciating silence (no fault to you) venture up to that top floor and have dinner. Highly recommend the Salmon salads and red wine.

One of the best meals in a long time. We both had the jaegerschnitzel with spaetzel and it was delicious. Arrived at the table just as we finished our sauerkraut ball appetizer. Perfectly seasoned and hot. For dessert it was the bee sting cake which did not disappoint. Service was excellent. Attentive but not annoying. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

We had the wings and split a schnitzel. Lauren was attentive and engaging. She suggested we try the Tre Leche cake and it was delicious.

I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. Came for a date night to sit on the patio- amazing vibes and we were seated immediately despite it being a saturday at 7PM. We got beer and split apps, the pretzel, sausage trio and pierogis were to die for. We also got the mozzarella sticks, but after reading the reviews I wish we got the wings instead! We will be back, a lot, and plan to try their brunch! Service was attentive and friendly.

Been meaning to try Valters for a year now. Finally got the chance to for our date night last night. Location is great in German village, super cute spot and love the vibe inside. Very traditional for a German restaurant or pub! Service was friendly and great. Plenty of beer choices. Huge mugs! Now to the food...for appetizers we got the pretzel and jaeger wings. Pretzel honestly was not great, just ok. Wings for sure 9.5/10, one of the best wings so far I've had in Columbus. Highly recommend and it's a huge portion. We also ordered the bratwurst sandwich and potato salad and spaetzle. The bratwurst was ok? Not bad, not amazing. Definitely have had better at other places. The spaetzle however was FANTASTIC! Super traditional and just so comforting, really appreciated that. Giving it a 4 rather than 3 because of the location and beautiful inside and service, and the wings and spaetzle. I'd love to come back and try their brunch though.

Is one of the better places to dine at in the German village. Nice atmosphere that gives that German vibe with a menu to match. One of the top two places I needed to try while visiting the German village. Better than the other overrated places. This is definitely a must do place to go! I am definitely gonna try brunch next visit. Got the Jaeger schnitzel. It was extremely tender and flavorful and breaded with a nice sauce. There is a lot of extra pepper seasoning on everything. I didn't mind it but someone that's not a fan of pepper may be a little opposed to the little over seasoning of pepper. Also came back another night and got Ohio made ravioli in a red German sauce???
