Quintessential Clintonvillecoffeehouse. Recently remodeled, so nicer but more sterile

Helly Shoes

Great coffee but no one is taking care of the space. The bathroom was gross. Toilet paper roll just sitting on the floor. Floor has not been mopped in months. I wiped down the toilet and mirror. You're welcome.

I don't normally write negative reviews but I had to this time. I grew up in Clintonville going to Cup O Joe. Now I live in Clintonville and have been a regular because it's so close. In the mornings for the past year now the staff has been oddly antagonistic, off-putting, and delivers exceptionally poor customer service to me and those ordering before me. Today, like so many other days, I got to the register and the staff didn't say anything. I placed my order and gave them my sleeve for a punch which upset them for some reason. The only thing they said to me was my total. I paid and moved to the end to join others waiting for their orders. They didn't announce any orders including mine. They just put them on the end with other orders and walked away which is typical of my experience. When I got home my coffee was weak and my bagel was both stale and toasted to oblivion. I have had more bad experiences like this than good experiences over the past year. The morning staff's attitude and service is deplorable and completely unacceptable by any retail standards. I know for a fact I'm not the only one who has experienced this nor the only one who has said something to them. The fact that these issues have persisted for over a year tells me they don't care, their manager doesn't care, and that a bad attitude mixed with poor customer experience is part of the morning Cup O Joe experience.

The cafe is very aesthetic and there is always somewhere to sit. The coffee and scones are delicious. Service is quite fast. I recommend the bacon-cheddar scone and the caramel latte.

The place is clean and spacious, also offers WiFi. I finally had a day I could enjoy it, coffee was good, had a hot Mocha, and a quick bite and with the large, coffee, stayed under $10. I recommend over the pricier quick coffees you may normally get.

Been coming here for years, the staff right now is akin to the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 70's, the run of the first three Belle & Sebastian records, the classic M.A.S.H. lineup and those three great Jimmy Buffett and Indigo Girl songs. Just classic. The other day I ordered something new for me, called a Milky Way and one of the long-time baristas (I like to think of her as a Barista Sista as I also work at one of the larger chains that I refer as StarF___s). This lady sure has a handle on the espresso machine, steamer and coffee grinder. With one eyebrow raised she knows how to apply enough steam into the cream. My drink was both frothy and creamy with a splash of whipped cream that almost made this lady weak at the knees. Mikly Way me anytime "Cup of Joe." Hands down the best Lil Ole Coffeeshop in Columbus. Five stars.

I really loved this place. The cold brew was some of the best I've ever had. The vibes are great, the people are lovely. All in all a really good little coffee shop ?

Cup O Joe is a Clintonville institution and one of the last of its kind in Columbus with most of the other affiliated shops branded as Stauf's. The coffee, light bites, and service are all awesome; it very much feels like a neighborhood coffee shop with all of its regulars.

They significantly expanded their footprint with the space's renovation in the last year. It sacrificed some of its ambiance and coziness, but it's great to see it thriving nonetheless.

Great stop on our Columbus Coffee Trail! Atmosphere was so great with music, decor, and seating. Lattes were a little thick toward the end, but seven SF options—what a great variety!
