Amazing pastries, amazing staff, amazing damage to my wallet. Wouldn't have it any other way 🙂↕️
A few tips:
- If you want to avoid the line go on weekdays or early Saturdays or order pickup on DoorDash or Uber Eats (it's more expensive but will save you time). Otherwise expect a wait of 30-60+ minutes
- They're often giving samples of new or special items while the line moves inside
- There are two tables that fit three at best, so don't plan on eating here
- The staff are the sweetest and always have amazing ideas and recommendations - chat them up :)

The almond chocolate croissant is quite literally the best I ever had. A few hours after purchase, still fresh as ever, flaky, quality ingredients.

Finding out that the menu consisted of premade items only was a bit of a surprise. But it was still pretty good AFTER reheating...

Honestly I’d give it 4.5 stars as the price is ludicrous. However everything we got was very delicious. The loaf of bread was basically perfection. I think it was called country sour. We got a regular croissant, filled cruffin and a ham and cheese croissant. Plus two coffees. The cardamom coffee was very very good. It’s just that the total for these 6 items was $61 before tip. This is more than NYC and Paris prices for equal quality. It’s just too much money to visit regularly. The line was out the door so obviously prices are acceptable for the local market and for what you get. But it’s more of a once a season treat than a weekly thing for me. Excellent food. (Also it would be cool if they had access to the neighboring space and had a large open cafe to sit and enjoy the goods. As is, this is carry out only).

***Revised for 2025***
Incredible fresh bread, new system / location really speeds the line which was an issue at the previous location. Have expanded the selection of everything including coffee, prepared foods and take away items
Pros - amazing products, creative bakery team, very friendly cashiers / managers, great inventory
Cons - expensive

I have had plenty of sandwiches before…but not like this. I ordered a turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich with a rosemary garlic aioli on their house made bread….and let me tell you, it blew my mind. Someone(probably Dan) must’ve fixed their flux capacitor, and traveled back to a time were the plague was rampant, electricity nonexistent, and everyone and their mom is dirty as can be, but the bread is fire.
Someone (probably Dan) brought that bread back with them, not knowing the local spell casting wizard had hitched a ride. The wizard, now present in our century, deemed our time worthy and blessed Dan(or someone) with a spell of chef kiss like talent to make any food, recipe, or ingredient taste otherworldly. And Dan(or someone) made a sandwich. An out of this world, make you wanna shimmy, punch someone in their teeth if they touched your sandwich, sandwich. Since devouring this god level, sublime work of art…I know from this moment forward I will never look at sandwiches the same again, I am forever changed.
Was it pricey? Let a be real, Yes. He (probably Dan or someone) traveled back in time. Time travel is expensive so of course the prices are high.
Was the vibe on point? Yes. Open kitchen theme, sunbeams through the window, the guy in the black beanie who made my coffee(probably not Dan) made a point to hear my name from across the room as I paid, and say it back to me correctly as he handed me my coffee with an infectious smile(yes he was handsome, though he also.. probably not Dan)
Will I be returning and should you treat yourself to this purveyor that is Dan The Baker….my simple answer….Why aren’t you on your way???
Oh and yes, make way, cause I will return :)
Cheers

Cardamom knots, croissants, olive polenta bread…I mean, you really can’t go wrong with anything. Very talented bakers, everyone is always so kind and there is always a line for a reason!

I love stopping at Dan the Baker. We don’t stop here often but I do like to get a few items each time we do stop in. This time I tried a savory egg/ bacon and hot honey danish as well as a cinnamon morning bun. Both were so good. In the past I’ve had their cookies, lunch sandwiches and breads. I’ve never had any complaints. The coffee they serve is delicious as well.

Outstanding goods — but the vibe behind the counter is weirdly bleak. Every visit feels like I’ve walked onto the set of a Wes Anderson film where everyone’s been told to “stare quietly and look mildly haunted.”
The cashier is usually nice, but the cappuccino workflow has this rushed, “what next, what else, hurry up” energy — and the folks in the back just watch in silence like they’re trapped in a loop. No “hi,” no “thanks for coming in,” just a rotating cast of exhausted faces.
The quality is there. The culture… feels like something deeper is off.
Excellent flavors in beverages. Steak sandwich was scrumptious but on the pricier side for not being made fresh to order. Dry goods weren’t very satisfying.

Everything is just amazing got a couple burritos and cardamom knots and a loaf of sour and asiago bread, make sure to grab some of their fresh butter too whipped fresh that morning. Get there early cause when it's gone they are done. Very limited seating like a bench most everyone knew it was a grab and go the line moves quickly.
