My wife and I used to love El Barco — it used to be one of our favorite Mexican seafood spots. Unfortunately, the quality and service have declined a lot.

Today was one of the worst experiences so far. We arrived around noon on a Sunday with friends. The server was cordial, and I told her upfront that my wife and I needed to leave by 1:00 PM at the latest. She said it was fine, so we ordered right away. Everyone at the table knew what they wanted, so the entire order went in at once.

We waited…and waited. At 12:55 PM, the first plate finally came out. Since we were out of time, I asked the server to pack our meals to go. I ordered a Tilapia al Estilo Nayarit, but we still had to wait another 10 minutes just to get the food.

When I opened my box two hours later, I realized it wasn’t even the dish I ordered — and paid for.

This wasn’t an isolated incident, either. The last three visits have all been disappointing, but today was the last straw. Sadly, this used to be a great spot, but the service and attention to detail have really gone downhill. My wife and family, won’t be back!

8/23/25 Today my husband, daughter and me wanted to go eat somewhere we decided to go to el barco ! Is the second time after 3 years that we went there and it was the worse decision, first we got to the table we were waiting for the waiter (Dayana) she came up to the table talking in her cellphone in front of us , she finished talking and look at us and doesn’t even say hi or I’m sorry or something and I’m like OK! She asked us what we want to drink my husband got a Michelada $(9.99) very expensive and it was hot , and didn’t taste good either, my daughter a limonade $5 ok so we are thinking she is bringing us chips and salsa and no never brought them I asked her after a looong wait for chips and salsa and she says they are cold that’s why she didn’t bring them otherwise she would have brought them so we are expecting them still , other people comes in and they bring them chips and salsa so I asked other server for chips and salsa and they are cold !! So we also ordered fajitas and molcajete and tacos the worst food I ever had in a Mexican restaurant and the worst service too the meat was very hard to bite my husband was like eating a plastic or something my food came out wrong and all the food was unsalted or seasoned it tasted horrible my daughter didn’t like her tacos same no taste! Our waiter didn’t come back at all ! So I didn’t eat my food I decided to take it home and try to put some seasoning and salt at least because we spent almost a $100 to throw it away ! So I asked other lady for boxes she is starting to take the plates with some of the food I was going to pack 😡 !! Oh also our waiter is talking again in front of us with other server when we were ordering our food so there we are waiting until she is done talking! Wow !!!! We are so disappointed and mad about EVERYTHING!!!! The worst experience we will never go back !!!!!! Also the music is waaaayyy too loud we had to scream when we were talking!!!! Oh and then she brings my husband other michelada when he didn’t even ordered!!!!😡🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ so we didn’t leave a tip !! I was a waitress for 7years I know perfectly how to treat a customer I know how is like working in a restaurant!!!!

We purchased a Clipp half price discount gift card. Came from Springfield as it was about to expire. Restaurant refused to take the gift card we purchased. Food was pretty good, a large lunch portion. Server was very sweet. However, not honoring a gift card that was not expired was disappointing. I would beware if you have coupons.

First time eating here and it will be the last as well. I’m not picky at all about food or restaurants but how does a Mexican restaurant not have chips..like they were out of chips… should’ve left after we were told that. The drinks were very overpriced and the quality of food is not worth the price you pay. Maybe we just went on an off day but it was very disappointing.

I love el barco! It's such a fun atmosphere and the seafood is really fresh. It's a little spendy but well worth it.

Ayer fuimos al barco de el west & fue una experiencia muy desagradable a mi esposo le sirvieron una pasta que parecía vomitada la pasta parecía de otra & aparte dijeron que no se la iban a cobrar en el ticket & al final si la cobraron.

Just walked out a few mins ago, asked 3 different people to put in a to-go order, no one speaks English… I left and went to chipotle next door🤷🏽‍♀️
