Bartender was a nasty one. I like a good ruff edged bartender but this woman just hated her job and hated I had the nerve to be the only person sitting at the bar ordering a drink from her. And the place has a really bad BO smell to it.

While the food was served promptly and was good, the music they had playing over their sound system was soooo loud, my dining companion and I could not have a conversation during our lunch. We had to just sit, eat and leave. It was so loud that when I asked the server a question about the menu, he couldn't understand what I was asking and completely answered me with something that made no sense to what I asked. I actually made a comment about the loud music, but was only asked if I wanted to be moved to a booth IN THE SAME LOUD ROOM. A booth was not an option since we specifically requested to sit at a table because a booth did not give my dining companion the back support needed. Our lunch was the most UNPLEASANT experience I had ever had at El Vaquero. If the music being that loud is their new normal, I don't recommend dining there. Not if you want to talk to those you are dining with.

We got the vegetarian chimichanga and fajita and no qualms!! Delicious, fast service and HUGE portions!
Food is solid and the service is pretty good.Got the chimichangas and the meat quality was great, though wish I'd gotten a bit more guac for the price.Overall a great place to eat if you have a large party or are looking for Mexican around OSU.
