Love this place! Food, service, ambiance - everything is incredible. I will say it’s hard to secure a table due to limited seating, but the wait is worth it.

One of our favorite places to eat breakfast. Sometimes seating is hard to get and we have eaten in our car several times. The quality of food makes the location eating it, irrelevant. Caution if you are on a date or business meeting , try to attend off hours to help with the seating issues.

Awesome location/renovation of an old space. Some of the plants really need tended to, the pothos need pruned and watered.

Great food, great atmosphere. Service was typical of cafe where you have to go to a counter to order. Still delivered to table and food was amazing. Highly recommend the banana bread.

Parking: Not many spots when busy.

I live closer to the German Village Emmett's so typically go there but it always feels like a treat when I find myself up by the Open Air School and I get to pop in here! There is so much natural light and the staff are all so welcoming. There are also multiple different comfortable spaces to sit and work if in for a mid week coffee. Love Emmett's, thank you all!

Compost Exchange Support

We love working with Emmett’s to collect and haul their food scraps, thereby diverting organic food waste from the landfill and instead turning it into nutrient rich compost. The team at Emmetts has been really great to work with. It’s so refreshing to see a small business focused on sustainability and the environment. Our team loves everything on the menu especially the breakfast burrito, overnight oats, and avocado toast. We eat here as much as we can. Thank you Emmett’s Cafe!!!

I’ve been going to Emmett’s German Village location for a while, but today was my first day trying their Open Air School location. HOLY COW!! This place is absolutely incredible. The cafe is inside a historic school building built in 1928 and is impeccably restored with a bar lounge, fitness studio, event space, etc. Emmett’s cafe has big beautiful windows, comfortable seating, and an even larger menu than their German Village location. I got the new “Sylvia” grain bowl (add falafel ), a mango lassi smoothly, and some chocolate peanut butter power balls. Honestly it was the best meal I’ve had all year. This place is so unique and special that I ended up sitting here for 2 hours and reading after I finished lunch. The staff was so friendly and it felt like a community hub. If you haven’t tried this place, you have to check it out for yourself. Highly highly highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place. The food is healthy and delicious. The service is excellent. And the atmosphere/decor is absolutely beautiful. This is my favorite lunch spot in Columbus and it is truly a hidden gem.

Slow and inattentive, every time. Night and day with the German Village location - staff seem completely disinterested and almost annoyed, at all times.

Subpar and uncomfortable service today with the window service. I live nearby and have a dog, so we really appreciate that they have a window where you can order without needing to go inside. However today, having walked from my home with my dog, aunt, and cousin in tow, when we tried to order brunch from the window the server, who I think might have been today’s manager, told me that they were only taking drink orders from the window because they had a long line inside and didn’t want people skipping the line. I explained that I had my dog with me, relying on window service like always, so I could not order from the inside. The server suggested that I place an order online. However when I placed the online order, there was no clear indication of how I would be notified when our food would be ready. Then after we had been waiting about 30 minutes for our food, someone else walked up to the window and was allowed to order food from the window from a different server. We ended up canceling our order because our food was still not ready after 45 minutes of waiting, and my aunt needed to get to the airport for a flight. Overall we had a subpar service experience today. I really did not appreciate how the service today made me and my party feel like second- class citizens. Overall very disappointed with a restaurant that I normally recommend to other dog owners precisely because of the doggie window option. When my partner or I have ordered from the window in the past with our dog the servers are normally great. I’m not sure what was going on with the manager today, but her service skills today left much to be desired. Hopefully Emmets’s can improve their system for how to handle the doggie window fairly and effectively, even when they are busy.

Atmosphere was very welcoming. Matcha was good and other drink offerings were plenty. Chai was sadly rooibos and had no caffeine:(
