Flew in Friday for a Saturday wedding that happened to fall on my better half’s Bday. Found Fyr online and saw they had a Chef’s Table experience. (Note, OpenTable only let me make a reservation for 1, so I did and then left a message via the app for the restaurant. Ian responded within a couple hours via the app, phone call and text to fix it.)

The service was nothing short of amazing. Drinks were well crafted and delicious. Jasmyn recommended the half chicken even though I’m not a fan of mole, but she said it was more savory and not at all sweet. It slapped y’all. All of the dishes we tried were amazing.

Ian called on the way in and inquired about whose birthday we were celebrating and make sure to have a card at our table. He took the time to share more about the chefs and their recipes. The whole team spoiled us.

Overall, the venue is a bit pricier than we typically choose, but the Fyr crew earned every bit of our bill. We’ll be back if we’re ever in town again.

Ian and Jasmyn, thanks for a wonderful experience and making our Bday cele special.

After a mixup with our confirmed venue for a larger group last week, FYR jumped in for the save with minutes notice. The service, food and last minute accommodations for a party of our size was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back soon for a full dinner!

Kat was amazing! She made our anniversary very special with champagne and Polaroid photos, and amazing food! Also, the chef accommodated my food allergies. This might be our new favorite spot!

We contacted FYR for a private dinner for guests of my organization. Communication with Leo leading up to the event was wonderful -- he was happy to answer any questions we had and make sure we had what we needed. The service the evening of was outstanding! Our guests were treated with such care and deference, and it was an excellent experience. We will definitely be back.

Trying to do way too much with way too little. Food is over thought, and honestly not great.

We came for dinner and got the empanada salteña (which I totally recommend), spicy tuna wonton tacos, and wood roasted oven mushrooms as appetizers. For our mains we got skirt steak which was very good, roasted salmon, and margarita pizza. The desserts were also very good and the smoked corn brulee was good but if you don't like smoky flavors I recommend not getting it. Overall everything was very good, some of the food was a bit over salted, but the waiters were very nice. We couldn't decide between the toasted coconut and the smoked corn brulee so they just got us both, on the house which was very nice of them.

Food was not good. Empanadas were okay, nothing special. The salmon dish was horrible. It was burnt, the hominy/cherry tomatoes side were very bland.

Was excited to see a Chenin blanc on the menu, was not a good one. Tasted like a boring Chardonnay. Atmosphere was great though.

My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate our 16th anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. The Parradilla for two was a fantastic dish and the sommelier made a great recommendation for a wine pairing that was a tasty combination. For excellent food, superior service at an upscale cloth napkin establishment FYR is by far the best value in greater Columbus. For the past several years when going out for our anniversary I have left hungry and feeling ripped off with a $300-$500 bill that was just not worth it. This was not the case at FYR as the portions were great and I feel the tab was very fair. We will definitely be back and  I have already recommended it to friendsand colleagues. The rooftop bar, Stories on High,  has a beautiful view of the city skyline at sunset and was amazing after dinner.

From the minute we walked in, we knew we were in the right place to celebrate a birthday. Its beautiful interior sets the mood and their kitchen is just as amazing to watch operations. The food was eclectic, fresh and fun. Adam our waiter was amazing and never missed a beat. They even took us upstairs to the Stories bar on the 28th floor for a great sunset photo op. Above and beyond . Oh, food was even better than we anticipated

Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of everything because as soon as it came out it was all devoured. We started with beef empanadas. Absolutely delicious, especially with the recommended serving suggestion of putting the accompanying sauce inside. Fresh and flavorful.

I got the salmon and my boyfriend got the skirt steak. Both were amazing.
Dessert was the PB&C with an espresso martini. Dessert was good with different textures & favors.

Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. She answered all of my questions and even gave us dessert on the house for it being date night.

We will for sure be back!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at FYR this past Saturday evening. Best dishes were the Skirt Steak (medium rare) and the Porcini Risotto w/Shrimp. Equally tasty, the steak was cooked perfectly with excellent taste. I would go to this restaurant just to order this again. My wife feels the same about the risotto. While part of the Hilton Hotel, the space is a unique two story volume, which helped keep the noise level at a minimum. While there was a large group of people seated near us, the space helped mitigate the noise. Interesting people watching on the sidewalk along High Street, especially since the windows are slightly elevated from the seating area. Our waiter, Kenneth, was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend him, and this restaurant, as a great place in downtown Columbus for a delicious dinner.

FYR offers a refined dining experience centered around (let me put this in simple terms) exquisite food. I indulged in dishes such as the Chorizo criollo (pork sausage with chimichurri) which delivered rich, smoky flavor with well-balanced spice, and the whole branzino, expertly grilled with crisp skin, tender flaky meat thoughtfully topped with crispy onions, lemon, capers, brown butter and herbs.

The Caesar salad was thoughtfully composed, with a bold, anchovy-forward dressing and crisp, lightly grilled romaine, elevating a familiar classic. The steak was seared to perfection—flavorful, tender, and seasoned to highlight the quality of the cut. And that lime dressed salad on top? Must I say more. We even tossed in an order of French fries that were crisp and well-seasoned adding the perfect addition to an already well rounded meal.

Now lastly, the desserts (the thing(s) we all have room for.)
We ordered the corn crème brûlée which offered a creative twist, combining sweetness with subtle earthiness. But the flan stood out—smooth, lightly sweet, and skillfully balanced in texture and flavor. The dulce de leche on the side allowed the dessert to cater to my super sweet palate vs my friends more savory palate.

Overall, FYR delivers on both concept and execution. The focus on fire-enhanced flavor is evident across the menu, making it a compelling destination for thoughtfully crafted cuisine in Columbus.

Before I end this I’d like to shout out our server Ederlyn (who was one of the best servers I’ve ever had the pleaser of being sat for.) I would also like to shout out Ian (the senior food/beverage manager who you can tell believes in this restaurant and everything that they stand for. From the food, to the music and the conversation.)

Lastly to CHEF, in the words of our peers “You did your big one.” It brought tears to my eyes to see someone so confident in their food. You should be.

Mind you this was all because it was my birthday and we wanted to try something new. What a joyous treat. A 10/10 experience.
