Visited 4 times within a week and my experience was mostly favorable. However the last 2 visits, I was ignored by the female bartender with braids and when she finally served me, the drinks were bad.The first two visits were amazing and if I could duplicate those experiences I would return every visit to Columbus.Food: I had the steak and potatoes. I also had the burger. The steak and potatoes were perfect. The burger was okay but the components were competing with each other and took away from my enjoyment. If I returned, I’d order again but without the brie.

Ian is the absolute best! After our original rehearsal dinner location unexpectedly flooded, Ian sprang into action and got us a private room at FYR for our special night. Not only was the food and service fantastic, they went above and beyond to put signs on the tables and even ran out to get candles for my mom's birthday dessert. They turned what could have been a much more frustrating and upsetting circumstance into an unforgettable evening.

Phenomenal experience! The host was very welcoming and our waiter, Alex, was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. He provided great recommendations as well as fun conversation. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the chef's special 120 Day Dry Aged Cowboy Ribeye and it exceeded expectations. We finished off the night with dessert, Grandmother's Flan and The PB and C, as well as an espresso. The perfect finish for a fantastic meal. Chef Sebastian came over to our table and welcomed us to his establishment. He talked to us about the restaurant and I could tell he has a true passion for what he does and it shows throughout. From the workers to the food to the atmosphere, this was, truly, one the best dining experiences I've had. I highly recommend FYR Short North to anyone looking for a special evening out. I will, definitely, be back.

Looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal with friends? Not your place. This huge open space packs hundreds of diners, who have the privilege of spending $30-40 for a piece of grilled meat, and an extra 10 for anything on the side. Food was good but not fantastic ( lamb was dry and too little sauce for the thick piece of chicken. Cauliflower unexciting.) The star of the show was the one food that was not grilled: the beet salad. Find a local place with a local chef instead!

Went o FYR for dinner with friends. The service was exceptionally slow and the food was mediocre. For example, our drinks took 25 minutes to get to us after ordering. We were at the restaurant for upwards of three hours because the service was so slow. The restaurant was not very busy to constitute the pace. The taste of the food was okay. I got the lamb shank, and for it being cooked “indirectly” for four hours, it was not as tender as you would expect. Plus there was absolutely no seasoning, so the flavor was also bland.

$30 for a bit of flavorless duck smaller than my hand and a puddle of cheese sauce is criminal, even for a hotel restaurant.

It was excellent, the food was cooked to perfection and the service terrific. I thought I was going to spend way more than I did, which was awesome! I definitely will go there again when funds are available for it.Parking: I had a 5 minute walk to Fyr from the garage, but it wasn't bad

Our party loved our experience. we did the family style dining Parrilada to be exact.. the food was amazing. The ambiance was very nice. We didn't feel rushed. The chef came out and thanked us for dining with them. We would definitely go again...

I visited this place with a great friend. I give 1 star for the fact that it is a beautiful aesthetic, venue, and vibe. I give another star for our host, Alex, who was knowledgeable and honest about recommendations.I’ve dined at many places in Columbus, and I’d say that for the price, the quality of food here was mediocre, at best. I understand the concept of charred vegetables: but serving a half head of cabbage that is literally burnt black is unacceptable. We asked the host (not Alex) if it was supposed to be burnt, and she looked at us like we were aliens, responding, “uh yeah … it’s charred.” The first couple layers were literally inedible. The remains 4-5 layers were okay, but the seasoning/flavor were pretty bland. The potatoes were excellent. The drinks were mid range strong (5/10) for the quantity and price. The roasted chicken was super dry, but had potential in terms of flavor if it wasn’t cooked so long. The salmon had a pretty good taste, but I’ve had better for less $$.I did appreciate the chef and manager visiting our table to check on us, that was personable.Overall, I would have rather had spent $200+ at J. Alexander’s or Polaris Grill. Beautiful location (also plan to arrive early for busy street parking or expensive valet service), but I was not overly impressed.

Not your average steak house - in the best way. My wife and I really enjoyed FYR. The food was delicious and very different than what you'd find in most steak houses. It was a nice change of pace and something unique to choose from with many dishes and sides ranging from Latin and Italian roots. The staff was also great and super attentive. Including the lead chef who came out and talked with every table, asking how their experience was. Not something you see very often. We're already excited to go back and try something different from the diverse menu. Oh and do yourself a favor and try their espresso martini ?

My fur coat was stolen at the hotel, and despite promises of a callback, I've yet to hear back from anyone. The only correspondence I've received is a text message containing the Lost Item Report Confirmation.

Dissappointing

We don't often write reviews but I feel like for the price tag, experience should have been better. The place looks and feels like a hotel restaurant. It's not a bad thing if one's looking for that vibe. It's very open and just felt like you're dining in a massive hallway. Food was a whole different story: 1 scallop cut in fourths as a plate and burned salmon for entrée - that's what stands out in memory as I think about our experience. Our waitress was really nice but you'd think after seeing a completely charred piece of salmon, she'd acknowledge it and try to rectify it. It just seemed that customer experience was not the main focus. A lot of staff and management walking around looking important with no apparent purpose. To top it all off valet charged us more than what states on the restaurant website. Definitely not a place to try again any time soon.
