You gotta check on take out!! I ordered a salad to go and had no croutons, so I went back in to ask for them.. they gave me some but not the cornbread ones that the salad is supposed to come with!Food is too expensive here to be getting it wrong!! Maintain your in-house standard!!!

Calamari was basic......no tentacles....Prime rib was bland at best.....no bread or salad served with entree..server definitely hated her job....0 enthusiasm.......kitchen staff was very polite when I walked by. But won't be back.....39.99 bland prime rib......

Best prime rib I've had in decades! Nice super thick cut... Lots of flavor... Very minimal fat. Smashed red skin potatoes were delicious too.

I have always loved to go to j alexander's...until now. The steak maui was great; however, the not so ordinary mac and cheese was AWFUL. It used to be creamy and cheesy. This time the mac and cheese was dry and tasteless. The smashed potatoes weren't up to par either. I was very disappointed in the meal. At these prices, the quality should not be this low.

Low and slow cooked steaks are really great! Totally just takes steak to a whole new level! The crab cakes were very good! Unexpectedly firm meat, not a lot of flour coating at all, which was nice!

This is a glorified Ponderosa, at best. Way overpriced. What is meant to be elegant dining, in your vinyl booth with sneeze shield in place, is a far cry from the sophistication they are charging for. The steak options are weird-you don’t get to choose your potato. Mine came with French fries-which aren’t the first thing to come to mind at a so called 5 star restaurant. These fries however were for sure McDonald’s copy cat. Salad cost extra-$8 extra! The meat was tough. I would only give 5 stars to the mashed potatoes-those were delish! Au jus was served in a coffee cup-laughable for a $$$ restaurant.

The food here made me sick. Definitely not worth it and will not be back. Went here for my Anniversary and was highly disappointed. I got the Maui Steak and mashed red potatoes. I sent back the Steak and ended up throwing out the potatoes when I got home.

We had a very nice Valentine’s Day dinner. Though you wouldn’t know it was VD. No decorations. My wife and I got the swordfish which was perfectly cooked!! The server was boring for the day and did not explain ANYTHING to us. We later heard her go over EVERYTHING with the next table. This bothered me more as I thought about it later and talked about it with my wife. But good food!! Except the menu said green beans and I got butternut squash. Desert options were awful. Carrot cake or chocolate cake. How about cheesecake!? I’m a former server for Olive Garden. She was not good.

Best experience ever. The service was great. The food was amazing. Melt in your mouth steak. Not overly crowded. Definitely recommend. It is a nice quiet atmosphere.

Went out for a birthday, 7:00pm. Got two different servers from that, I guess that’s when the split shifts? First server was good, second was significantly worse. They were open until 11 and at 9:45 had a server/hostess rolling silverware a table away from us. Still tipped 25% on the bill but didn’t feel like it was deserved. 12/28/23. Would not recommend for significant events.Would rate lower if it wasn’t for the first server. Not worth the money for the service. If you want better service go to Cooper hawk less than 0.1 mile away.

I wish I could say more. It would have been my first time eating there. We ordered food for a lunch meeting at my auditor’s office at 11:30 am. The food never managed to arrive in the 1.5 hours I was there with multiple interactions on the phone. Not sure I can recommend their delivery service. At least my auditor got their money back. I had to settle for Wendy’s 2.5 hours late.
