J Hot Fish closed shop at 1393 Cleveland Ave. in Linden. In a Facebook post, the eatery noted that it planned to re-open. "Thank you for your prayers, understanding and patience as we actively BEGIN our newest challenge," the post reads, "finding a NEW LOCATION."

Why should the community support this local business?? I am a local Business we own a wholesale seafood/food co and the Owner of this place we treated more then fair like we do all our customers (we also sold him his first and only commercial fryer at a very low discounted price so he could actually be operating like some what of a real rest. and we gave him time to pay for it and let him make payments) yes he actually opened this wing/fish place without a commercial fryer even-- I am only writing this review because No one likes a thief, we Gave the owner here terms hey you need some fish no prob pay us bill to bill the next time you need product you can pay for the last product help you try and build up your cash flow but guess what its been 50-days and its not a ton of money but here we have a business owner that used our money our products we paid for because we do business legit and has dodged phone calls told drivers that have stopped by for payment he is broke you don't have $138.00?? Huh?? we did something wrong on our end? When a customer comes in your rest and places an order they pay you right? your not giving the food away for free are you? Many people helped said place get open and I am sure helped along the way hey even we have helped above n beyond and have nothing to do with this business, everything you sold and got paid on at your restaurant was all profit for you because you havent paid what you owe us for the seafood products you bought- this is how you do business with local companies? and you expect to have good karma or people to support your local business? you make a bad name/reputation for yourself? This review comes down when you pay for what you bought- when your no longer looked at as stealing taking from us for what reason?? what did we do to J Hot fish??? I ask anyone thinking of going into this place why go in here? why support this business? is the owner legit in how he does business? is it all a cash grab money hustle? or as Columbus, ohio as a community do we teach lessons to thiefs- scammers and people that dont do business correct or honor their word and we dont spend our money their we dont support the business we shun it we give it the karma it deserves time will tell- We reached out plenty of Times J- Hot fish Plenty of times but hey you dont care right? this is the first spot this is getting posted at many more to come until the invoice is paid right is right facts are facts

This is a diamond in the rough! This is soul food at it's best. While my wife and sister thoroughly enjoyed their fish selections, I enjoyed the chicken wings. The owner welcomed us and offered us various samples of most of their sides. All of the sides had a very good and unique flavor that will keep you wanting more. That Cake, yes That Cake is so good we bought extra to take home. Everything is prepared fresh here and lots of variety. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and welcoming and the service is very friendly and helpful with ordering. You cannot leave here disappointed!

Last night we stopped here on our way home. The parking lot is behind the building by the police station on the corner. It's a little confusing and just read the signs to where you can park so you won't get towed or a ticket. But when we entered into the restaurant the young lady at the counter greeted us with a smile. We looked over the menu and seen that this is a fish spot. I don't eat fish at all so at first I was a little bummed out but then on the back of the menu they have wings and waffle meal. So I got all flats with lemon pepper season and a side of bbq sauce with home cut fries an macaroni and cheese a dinner roll and two slices of bread. The restaurant was really clean and smelled good too. The cook offered us samples of some of the sides to try while we wait on our food. He was really nice. He hooked our food up and Gave us extra chicken!!! The wings was big and juicy! Well cooked and the seasoning OMG was so good! We didn't care for the macaroni because it really didn't taste like anything but everything else was really good. The food wasn't expensive and it wasn't really busy either. We was in and out in under 30 mins. If your looking for a good sea food place go here!

Good fish, rude service. I had this the first time from Ubereats and it was delish. However, the next time I patronized this place I went with a friend and the fish was super salty and in addition to that the cashier was very snippy with us for no reason and was moving like a snail. Now I love supporting local business, but if you gonna act funky I will take my business elsewhere. If the restaurant could be consistent, efficient and focused on improving customer service, this place can easily be a five.

I thought this was a good place to eat but I only eat fish and I found out they fried the fish and the chicken in the same grease which was a big No-No so I will not be eating here ever again

This was our first visit , the owner asked if it was our first time and we said yes . The owner then gave us samples of several sides greens , cabbage. Mac&cheese , and sweet potatoes . They were all very delicious. We tried the fish and chicken wing combo it was enough for both of us . The fish was Boston blue it's was delicious and golden brown or red I should say . We also tried okra and the potato salad . The meal came with 2 sides and we added 2 more everything was good . They apologized for not having waitresses and the other gentleman brought our food to us . So Don't expect to tip or get seated but the food is spot on . Now seating is available but probably better to pick up and go . The atmosphere is cool though and the music was nice that was playing so we didn't mind not having a waitress or being seated . Find your seat and eat ... lol ...we will be going back.

Found out about this gem via friends on Facebook. I've been there twice for 5 meals, and the food is so good! The meals are not too salty like country food often is(?), and we have been pleased with each order. The staff is friendly, polite and often offer sample tastes of other dishes. I saw a diverse crowd eating and ordering each time I stopped by there. Good food, friendly staff; It's now my favorite fish place lol!
