Went mid-afternoon on a Thurs. Not a great experience--it's one where you order and pay at the bar, and it's otherwise self-serve for drinks, cutlery (plastic and paper towels), and self-serve sauce station. $45+ tip for two lunches with one drink each. It prompts you to tip on full meal, which seems high since there is no service except bringing you food to the table. You do your own soda machine refills, or go to the bar if you want a drink. It seems just too expensive for fast food style treatment.

The family had spare ribs, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, and banana pudding. The meats have an outstanding flavor from the hickory smoke and rub! I have to rate the BBQ meat as the best in Columbus. More expensive than others but well worth it.

The food was outstanding. The spare ribs are ultimately delicious. Everything else was delicious too, pork slider, mac and cheese etc. The price is a little bit too high for me, but overall I was happy with my order, so totally worth it.

A good attempt to capture that Texas barbeque experience here in central Ohio. The place was surprisingly not crowded and thus service was very prompt. Would recommend the lil' Tex as it gives a great sample of what they have to offer on your first visit. If I had one thing to complain about it would be that the Mac n cheese was not a hit with me. But the corn and baked beans absolutely were.

Some of the best barbecue I've had in quite a while. I was surprised, because Ohio isn't exactly known for that.

Food was very delicious and the ribs were no joke out of this world, along with the customer service. I will definitely be back.

I have used this place multiple times for catering. Food is great, and employees are great as well. Greens are great BTW

This was an on usual treat my son and I went here he has been before period but I had never been and I was pleasantly surprised at good barbecue in Columbus. Don't know much about the place walked in order brisket or the piece of sausage just had a great meal. The prices are a little high but it's Columbus. A good place to eat. I think it was worth the price looking forward to going back.

I am sure you remember what Texas Alamo legend Davy Crockett once said, "you all can go to hell, I am going to Central Ohio!" At least that is what he would have said if he knew where Legacy Smokehouse was in Columbus. As a Texan, I scoff and find myself personally irritated by most restaurants that conscript the long and exceptional barbecue history of my native country. I almost 100% irritated and indignant when I see the Lone Star flag of Texas slapped on a wall with a claim by restaurants, joints, and smokehouses that they serve "Texas BBQ". Usually the first sign is the presence of pork bbq, followed by the absence of beef ribs, and red hot-links. The final indicator of a fraud upon the history of my bbq people comes at delivery. The absence of white onion, untoasted Texas toast bread, and pickles as a garnish tells me, "this aint like my daddy use to make". All of these things were present at Legacy Smokehouse, except one. The brisket on my sandwich WAS just like my daddy used to make in the greatest of all bbq states. The perfect balance of fat, moist, strong but not overbearing smoke taste, and large portions creates a Legacy for this place. Legacy Smokehouse is a Shangri-La for Texans living, vacationing, and passing through Central Ohio. Despite the lack of onion, pickles, no beef ribs or red hot links, the food was exceptionally Texan. Of course, this review is based only on one experience I feel extremely confidant in "unofficially certifying" THIS restaurant as a purveyor of Texas brisket. The brisket was prepared simply with only salt and pepper, smoked for 12 hours and generously piled on a brioche bun to satisfy my tastebuds and challenge my theory of Texas BBQ outside of Texas. I hope that others will support this uniquely qualified purveyor of the brisket culinary arts if nothing else but to allow Legacy Smokehouse to continue to be available to me when I return to OHIO. The owner responded and reminded that onion and pickles were served. His staff did not fall short, my brisket coma gave me a memory lapse! Thanks for the reminder. I will be back at OSU graduation, if not before!

This place knows how to do Texas BBQ. The staff was attentive and friendly. I will make this a regular stop when I'm back in Columbus.

ordered through grub hub today, ordered the haystack (brisket), side of baked beans, and banana pudding. The food was luke warm and very flavorless, just weighed very heavy full of grease. The banana pudding was just canned pudding with brown bananas and barley there vanilla wafers, just not worth $4 at all. I've been wanting to try this restaurant, but now that i have not impressed at all.

Bartenders were awesome. The pulled pork with sweet bbq was on point and the bread pudding was KING! That bread pudding will bring me back.

I was not impressed or even satisfied with this restaurant. I came early on a Saturday evening and there were only two people covering the entire place. I waited in my seat at the bar for about 10 minutes before my order for a beer was taken. I waited a while longer before ordering food. The server originally brought the wrong food to me and then brought out the correct food with mismatched sides. I was not given silverware with my food. The food was decent, but I've definitely had better barbeque. Portions were small for the cost.

Ribs arent that good. Sauces weren't very good either. Too watery. Also the worst part is their parking lot. It's small and its almost impossible to exit. You're at a stop light but yours is missing. I don't even think the intersection is legal. You'd be exiting right into the middle of an intersection in which you dont have your own light.
