We went for brunch and loved the atmosphere and our server was wonderful. The only thing that was as odd is that the coffee pot was broken and they didn't have coffee available for brunch at 11am? The music was a bit loud to hear over and would have been more appropriate later in the day. Overall loved the food and experience. We look forward to going back again!
After arriving it took a while to even order drinks. The manager came and apologized and offfered free appetizer. We ordered our food and it took forever. No water was ever offered, no bread. The food runner brought our food filet and prime rib and they brought a chicken. Welp we didn’t order a chicken so we had to wait even longer. There was a very loud table behind us which made the atmosphere not the greatest. The manager tried to make things enjoyable but not worth a meal over 100 dollars. Unsure if we’d ever return

Well, this was always a reliable experience, until tonight. Drinks bland, dinner bland, slow service. I had a Ketel One martini…no real flavor. My wife and I each had a salad…both dressed with no flavor ranch nor champagne vinaigrette. My pork tenderloin, while tender, had a glaze that was without flavor and almost non-visible on the plate. My wife had the crab cakes, almost half the size from previous visits. Something’s changed, this might have been our last visit.
We had to wait for are table. They had more then 1 booking at the same time ..but me and my husband still had a good time we went a head and had some drinks as we waited..the stuff was friendly.... It was a little mess up we will be going back soon ..
Apparently this restaurant decided to be closed on Sundays; including one of biggest days of the year for the Short North, Ohio State University graduation Sunday! I receive no notification that the restaurant would be closed and I had a family of 10 for which to find another restaurant! More than disappointed.
Good drinks, food is ok. We had the tuna tacos and lettuce wraps which were not bad but not good either. Service was good but they are really leaning into the loud music vibe. It was happy hour so 50% off everything was definitely worth a try. We will probably go back for happy hour, but just for drinks.
I only gave this restaurant one star so that I could write the review! It deserves 0 I booked on Open Table an 11:30 reservation for Easter Sunday. According to the site it opened @ 11. When our party of 6 arrived. The restaurant was CLOSED for the day!! Fine if it wasn't Easter Sunday. I have contacted both Open Table and the restaurant itself. I have yet to get a response to my emails. I was told by open table that I would receive 1000 points for my “inconvenience”. I just received an email from open table saying that my reservation would get 0 points. Bad all around. We were starving BTW.
Food was good, value was okay, service was great, the music volume is WAY too loud. If we have to yell at the server for her to hear us, and she has to yell back, you should turn the volume down.
Everything was wonderful from the cocktails to the Buffalo chicken dip! The chicken tenders were disappointing but the service and restaurant truly made up for it. We'll be back!

Our waitress was a lovely lady named Sydnee who was very good with her job. She gave us honest recommendations which really helped in our decision making! She genuinely made our time here much better!
The quality, consistency, and quantity of service and food has taken an expected turn for the worse after being sold to a corporate, public holding company. We ordered a burger/fries, Alexander salad, chicken and pasta soup. Salad had 4 croutons. Makeup and quality of salad ingredients is different, less, and lower quality Fry quantity much less No walk-by by service team after food delivery Pasta soup had literally NO pasta Had to get up and find a server to ask for more croutons and ice for my iced tea. Usually very attentive service and high quality. J Alexanders has been our go-to place for more than 20 years. We enjoyed the Columbus and Nashville and Chicago locations as we lived in all places. We recently moved to FL and knew that J Alexanders was sold to a publicly-held company. On this visit to Columbus we experienced what we were afraid would happen to the quality, service and consistency. Our worst fears realized. We won't be back.
Although our server greeted us immediately and took orders quickly, sometimes we had to ask again when certain items didn't arrive. We were only one of two tables there so they weren't busy. However the music was quite loud despite no real noise from patrons. That being said, the cocktails were all delicious and half price the entire food menu for HH is hard to beat.
The service was great our waiter was fantastic super friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again.
Not sure how long they have been open but I will say that all employees need to put their phones away as it was very apparent it caused distraction, plus it looked bad!! We even witnessed a server take a puff off her vape believe it or not. Drinks were slow to hit the table. Food was good but waited more than 45 minutes as server seemed very lost. Server was pleasant but failed to check back on drink refills or even to see if we were ok after food dropped. Numerous things went wrong throughout out our visit and to be honest too many to list. Will not be returning. This review is being nice.
