One of my favorite dive bars in the area and my favorite deep dish in town, when they’re busy be prepared to wait and have a drink but I assure you the pizza is worth the wait, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a true Grandview institution!!!!

I recently started going to Mister’s and have been back a few times and love the affordable drinks during happy hour. However, I had a disappointing experience on this Friday afternoon. The heavier set bartender was rude and made it seem like I was supposed to it was a $10-drink limit during happy hour, which was never communicated beforehand. It definitely felt unwelcoming, and I got the impression he didn’t care if I returned. While I’m not sure if it was prejudice or homophobia, the vibe definitely wasn’t right. That said, I’ll still return on other days, just not Fridays.

Great bartender. Several draft beer options. Delicious Chicago style pizza with very crunchy and chewy crust (I mean that in the best way), extremely flavorful sauce, lots of cheese. Very filling. Four of us couldn't finish one pizza. Gets pretty loud inside but otherwise great little place.

Great place. The pizza is top notch! Sauce is sweet with some spice. The meats are delicious and cooked right. Enjoyed the classic beers. Super friendly people. Great place to watch the game.

The deep dish Chicago style pizza is just amazing (and we're had this same style pizza in Chicago, so we know) lots of cheese, great sauce and really good crust. We ordered two salads and they're big enough we could have split one. The beer is cold, the service is great. Its a typical neighbor tavern with pool tables and counter seating bar plus tables.
And the locals are friendly.

Overall a nice bar. Food was okay. The buffalo cheese bread was like a deteoit style pizza but had great flavor. I got the meat lovers deep dish pizza as well. This had the thickest outer crust on a pizza I have ever seen. Similar to a pan crust pizza. There was a lot of cheese, but the meat was lacking. The sauce was really sweet and the under carriage was similar to a new tork style pizza. It was thin, but very strong. It held up all the toppings somehow. It was a unique pizza for sure.

Atmosphere- Well, I know it is a bar, but we happened to sit at a table in front of the loudest talker I have encountered in a long time. My skull rattled, and it was only 7:30. It somehow turned from annoying to hilarious after 20 minutes.. Who can keep that up for 45 minutes? I'd be exhausted.
Service- The bar was quick for how many people were there. The place was clean enough for a dive bar. The pizza did not take a long time to arrive.
The food- If this is better than true Chicago deep dish, I will pass. The crust is like hard tack, the sauce has to be straight up diced tomatoes from a can, and it was cold. Why? The sausage was miniscule. I am talking the size of a pea. The onions were minced. MINCED! Not for me. Chicago, are you OK?

The deep dish pizza is the highlight. The crust is fluffy on the inside but has enough structural integrity to not completely flop when you pick up a slice. The crust is also flavorful, along with the rest of the pizza. To me, it holds its own completely vs Chicago deep dish.

So all the reviews that claim this place is better than Chicago deep dish are WAY off. I was born and raised in Chicago and this is not even close. Why would you put sauce on top after its cooked? Its a watery mess that all just slides off. Sausage is in crumbles? No, you need chunks of sausage with fennel and you put it on raw so all the flavor goes in. Lastly, canned mushrooms, you must be joking. Also, give some real utensil because the plastic ones dont cut. Dont go here if you expect a good pizza. Drive the 6 hours to Chitown.
Ordered the deep dish everything. It was good but I’m not sure I want to pay $35 dollars for a pizza. This is not Columbus style pizza either. Very heavy. They do not lack on the toppings. If you have a huge appetite, then I highly recommend.
