Great food and fast, friendly service. Had the fried chicken, greens and yams. Mom had the whiting fish, mac and cheese, and yams. The chicken, fish and greens were a tad salty but not too much to stomach. The fish wasn’t filleted but was still tasty. We ate all of the food so that speaks volumes, haha!! We will definitely be returning!!

A Hidden Gem – Southern Comfort at Its Best! Visiting from Houston, TX, and Modern Southern Table absolutely blew me away. Every single dish we ordered was a 10/10 — full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and made with love. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. You can tell this place takes pride in its food and hospitality.
The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, the mac and cheese was creamy perfection, and the greens? Just like grandma used to make. Don’t even get me started on the cornbread — melt-in-your-mouth good!
If you’re ever in the area and craving real Southern comfort food done right, this place is a must-visit. Trust me, it’s worth the trip!

The food was so salty I couldn't eat it. Every bite, all the food became overwhelming salty. They also forgot my Jojo fries, but stapled the bag shut lol
Called the store, talked to Cat. She only offered to give me my fries. After 2 tries and wasting nearly 70 dollars, I expected more. Even just a replacement that isn't salty. Nope.
I won't ever eat here again!!

On 12/2924 I visited MST and Lashonda with a smile on her face and in her voice she helped me to place an order. The entire staff worked so seamlessly together that when my order was ready I enjoyed the delicious and perfectly fried chicken wings with delicious sides… I was licking my fingers after the last bite was eaten….everything from the service to the food was excellent. -Ms. Mildred

First time here , location was east to find and plenty of parking . There were so many options in the place , but I can for the soul food . The food was actually really really good . I had the fried catfish with yams and collard greens . Also had the kool-aid , was about $25 . Yams were sweet and delicious, greens were also very good . The catfish and cornbread both were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this place . My only critique is the cashiers took like 7 minutes to acknowledge my presence. She Was packaging another order , but could have at least said “hi, I’ll be with you in one second “ vs awkward silence . I was gonna walk away and try something else when she finally asked what I’d like to have . Other wise good experience
Was a really negative experience late last week when seeking a meal at Budd Dairy prior to an evening out. My husband got Hatch (next to Modern Southern) and offered a perfect comparison to my experience at Modern Southern. SERVICE: Absolutely ruined the experience. The three people working seemed resentful to have to be working -- mostly standing around and then when they had to work were incredibly slow and seemed to prioritize doing anything but preparing/serving food (standing around, looking on their phones, taking breaks). My ordering and then receiving food took about 25 minutes whereas my husband got his in 5. My food was prepared and sitting in the window getting cold while the staff stood around; consequently my food was cold. When I asked one of the persons about my food (which I could see sitting there -- I was the *only* person eating there, so it was obviously mind), they looked at me blankly and headed out to go on a break/bathroom/not sure, while my food sat and got cold and my husband finished off his food from Hatch (which was *delicious, by the way). My food may have been good but was cold on arrival (and my husband had already eaten) so I mostly just played with it and didn't eat but a bite of the chicken (cold), okra (cold), wedges (cold) and just thew it all away.
Overall, this was a really disheartening experience and I would never eat there again.

I ordered the Catfish special that comes with two pieces of catfish and two sides for a total of $25.95 w/ tip. The service was quick and the manager was easy going and answered all of my questions as a first timer.
My order included two pieces of catfish with a side of greens and Mac. The catfish was seasoned beautifully but the greens lacked flavor. The Mac and Cheese was really dry and had practically no flavoring.
I would try them again because I hear the Gumbo is really tasty.

Everything was delicious. Fried catfish, fried okra, baked beans, fried chicken, mac & cheese, greens, yams, banana pudding. Cornbread was my least favorite but it complimented the meal, they ran out of white bread. Whenever I visit the C.OH, it will be a must have for me.
