Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

Stopped by for an Italian ice and gelati with my family today and I have no idea what was going on. This Rita's is typically never this bad!! The very long line was moving as slow as molasses... and I realized why when I got up to order: The store was staffed by only 2 workers who seemed hurried and frenetic taking/making orders. How can an ice cream shop of all places be so inadequately staffed on a Saturday in late May?!! So irresponsible by management. I felt awful for the very kind cashier who was in way over her head with just 1 other worker supporting her. Ugh.

Also the gelati we ordered was supposed to be 1 layer of watermelon ice and 1 layer of peach ice and it was some kind of bizarre blended mix of both Italian ice flavors. Still tasted okay, but very strange. The gelati was also missing the bottom layer of ice cream.

the kindest people. I haven't personally ate here but I delivered doordash orders from customers that ordered here. The staff really took me back because the line was long and was practically around the building and they still took the time to be personable with each customer, had a smile on their face, while still giving surprisingly fast service and every customer I saw was happy. not only that but I didn't realize there was a separate window I could have gone to for the doordash orders, but the gentleman here pulled me aside and told me to just come out to the other window and skip the line and was laughing and making jokes with me the entire time. truly such an amazing experience any time I'm here

Wish I didn’t have to drive 35 minutes to go to one of these! Love the Gelati!

Every time I go in, I get excellent customer service. They know my friend Rob and hid order. The custard speaks for itself.

Brooklyn, the store manager was BEYOND patient, polite and informative. I had no idea what to order, and I changed my mind about a dozen times; and she was so pleasant throughout the entire process. Her customer service is a 12/10!

Went there on a busy weekend, so there was a line and cars had trouble getting into the cramped parking lot. They share a space with Frankie’s Pizza, so cars have to squeeze back behind Rita’s to park and pick up their pizza. I mention this just to show timing matters when visiting.

There’s an open area across the street that offers more room for business.

The selections are numerous and there’s various options of custard or Italian Ice to try. I’m no expert on quality, but the small custard twist cup tasted great to me. I plan to return to try the Italian Ice.

We love Rita’s in general because it provides tons of non-dairy options, and they are all delicious. However, this location could use some improvement.

They seem to be chronically understaffed, which leads to long lines that flow deep into the undersized parking lot. It’s not uncommon for there to be only one employee working on any given hot Saturday afternoon.

There is very little seating outdoors, zero indoor seating, and not even a bathroom onsite.

They need to provide more shade, especially for people waiting in those long lines.

On the positive side, the staff is friendly, and the treats are consistently good.

I love the rotating flavors. The Italian ice is delicious and the custard is also delicious. I love getting gelatis, because they have both the ice and custard. It’s so delicious. If you just want the ice, get quarts as it is cheaper. You can’t go wrong with anything here.

Rita’s custard is great! The only downside was it took a while to order despite the fact that it was a Sunday night and not particularly warm.

Place is amazing great product. Reviews people post about sizes not being good these are fat people who can’t stop stuffing there faces the serving size is literally perfect and trust me I like a good serving it’s a bang for the buck not very expensive at all so I don’t get it and the people complaining about service aren’t being truthful band class kids and nerds work there they weren’t being rude

HORRIBLE!!! Manger was rude an unprofessional. I placed an order an was denied my Order because I went back to my car to wait an she was upset because they wanted to close early even though they still had orders being prepared. She came outside an was yelling at another employee to get his “a$$” back inside and he was trying to help!I will never return even though I never got my order nor did they refund my money.
