Definitely work the 50min drive. I got the Cajun shrimp pasta and lobster fries. It was AHHHHMAZING. My son and fiancé both got the lobster Mac and gator bites. It was all seriously so good. They need a sit down restaurant, that’s the only thing that would make it better. We didn’t know it was a grab and go situation so eating the delicious food in the car, although memorable, would have been more enjoyable at a table. lol. The owner is so friendly and made our experience even better by being so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back

I give this soul food restaurant a 10 out of 10. I live an hour and a half from Columbus, Ohio. The customer service is amazing, with a very friendly atmosphere. The food is amazing; the red beans are like no other, the chicken is cooked to perfection, as well as the collard greens and shrimp. If you are in this area, I highly recommend this spot.

The cornbread is Jiffy mix & collards were disappointing. Mine really are better. No sugar in cornbread !! My GOD !!

Absolutely THE best Southern fried catfish & whiting, collards, red beans & rice, and cornbread in town! They have a food truck too, and I loved their food the last 2 days at Jazz & Ribs Fest. The sweet potato casserole is like dessert!

Long time passer, first time stopper. Food was fire - although they were out of mac, which I was hoping to try, but that happens...you can't complain about uncontrollables. The prices weren't as high as I first though they were once I thought about pricing everywhere else and the portion I received would have justified the cost anyway.
Ordered the Shrimp Philly and it comes with some of the best fries I've had in a long time...even after a 30 minute drive home. I'll definitely be back...gotta get some of that mac!
