The Walrus seems like a cool hipster place, but in all actuality it's a dive bar. A dive bar with basic food and basic drinks. Very affordable. If your drunk it's excellent.

Really disappointing. Didn't like it the first time but figured we'd give it a second try because we live close by. Bad both times. The sandwiches are just eh. Fried are eh. The goat cheese balls are good but that's about it. The nachos are disappointing. The music is awkwardly loud where you have to scream at the person sitting across from you to talk to them or you can just stare at each other. I would recommend avoiding this place. If a group of friends suggests this place, offer another suggestion. Not good.

Great place! Love the patio behind. They don't have food but there's a food truck next door. We sat there for 2 hours, doing nothing but enjoying the relaxing afternoon and chatting with different people.

We were on vacation in Columbus for the zoo and the Lego experience and my wife found The Walrus on Door Dash, after a long day with our 6 year old. It looked really good, so we ordered. The food came within a reasonable time and we were anxious to try our Po' Boys and crab cakes. Well, it turns out that DD delivered us the wrong order and instead we got a burger and cauliflower mac-n-cheese. No thanks. My wife tried to get things right with DD, but the Walrus was no longer taking DD orders. I'd like to give more than 3 stars, however I never got to try my desired order. Perhaps an asterisk needs to be attached to my rating.

I love the walrus. Every time I go it's a great experience. Staff is always fun and kind and, you can't beat the bottemless mimosas for 22 bucks!!

The food was decent. Was not aware this was more of a bar. The noise was high, so could barely hear people talk at the table. They did play good upbeat music and the staff was nice. Probably not a place to go to unless you want a cocktail and decent food. May go back, but not strictly for dinner. The fries were very good though, definitely different than anything I've ever had.

Don't belive the service issues... Everyone from the hostess to the waiter to the kitchen staff that helped bring out the food were absolutely impeccable. Would absolutely recommend for the team involved in service today. Have the goat cheese and marinara app. Cheese was great, marinara was run of the mill, but would recommend if you are a fan of the fried cheese genre. Wife and I both ordered the short rib sliders based on several reviews here. Certainly a good take on the offering. Would have asked for slightly more of the additional (cheese, pesto, bacon, etc.) but overall was not disappointing for a slider. It's a solid choice. Most notable is the service, drink menu is great for drafts, decent for wine, and offers some solid options for cocktails. Food selections are options not exactly in the same vein as most pub establishments, but very well done for what it is. Come for the folks, enjoy the food. Just be mindful of the possible hassle to find parking!

I had really mixed feelings about this place. I came in on a recommendation from the host I am renting from. We were immediately told that there were no tables available without a reservation because they were full. After noticing the bar wasn't the most comfortable option, I used open table to check how long the wait for a table would be. It had plenty of spots available, so I booked the 6:15p reservation at 6:07p then proceeded to show the hostess. At this point, she was able to magically find us a table, and we sat for dinner. The waitress was great, and the food was excellent and tasty. We ended up getting two apps and an entree, and several drinks. Though the end of service was nice, I still left the restaurant with a bad taste in my mouth.

I got the vegetarian chili nachos. It's my favorite veggie chili so far in Columbus. It did come out cold which was very disappointing. Great as a late night snack. All American food. I also tried their Mac and cheese which was great (not pictured). Giving a 3 star review because although food is good, the atmosphere is SO SO loud! You have to talk over people and your ears hurt with the live music. It needs to be turned down just a tad!

We ordered take out that was delivered. We ate probably 30 min after it was made, so I'm taking that into consideration. I ordered the wings and they were still crispy. I like mine cooked a bit longer and would probably have asked for it to be cooked a bit longer next time. My coworker ordered the crab cake slider and sweet potato fries and he loved them! Said they were one of the best sweet potato fries he's ever had. They were still crispy when we got them too. I'd love to go to the restaurant to see how it is fresh.

Was in town for the Beerfest at CoSi and got done pretty late after packing up things. Checked into our hotel and was hoping for a late night bite as we were working during the usual dinner hours and rode in from Cincinnati for the event. Walrus was recommended by our hotel and we walked over. While most spots might be less than excited about having 2 guys come in 30 minutes before the kitchen closes, both the servers working were extremely nice and gracious hosts to us. I believe our server's name was Joey and he did an incredible job and was very fast with service too. The maple burger was awesome and the steak fries were just as good. He recommended a chipotle mayo for the fries and it was a delicious sauce to dip for the fries. Thanks for feeding us after a long day!

Best buffalo chicken sliders- ever! Came in early on a Wednesday evening. Had reservations on Open Table, didn't need them. Half price beers until 7pm, and they had a very nice selection of drafts. Had the Jackie O's IPA followed by the sliders and Walrus fries. The fries were different, almost like steak fries sliced thin. Think about 1" slabs to potato about 1/4" thick, then tossed in some kind of seasoning (may have just been salt). They were well done, but I'm not a steak fry guy and prefer thin cut all the way. Daughter got sweet potato fries, which she really liked. Now, on to the sliders. Not at all what I expected. These were pulled chicken tossed in a buffalo sauce with sautéed onions. At first I thought they were a bit skimpy on the meat, but the other sliders had a bit more. The TASTE was OUTSTANDING! The onions really paired nicely with the sauce and chicken for a taste I've never been served before. Served with a side of ranch that complemented them nicely. Service was fast and friendly. Would come back again in a heart beat to try the burger and flat breads.

I've been here quite a few times and like the variety on the menu. On most recent visit I tried the crab cake sliders which were good, however, I would prefer less bread and have crab cakes made larger without the bread, use the carrot slaw but add pickled onions too and serve alongside vegetables. My boyfriend had the short ribs which were excellent! Very tender and served with garlic mashed potatoes and a combo of parsnips and carrots which were perfect accompaniments. We really liked sitting at the high top seats. The only drawback to this place is it is rather noisy.

We went to the Walrus on Tues 5 April. We had 6:15 reservations and were seated directly at a table with a reserved sign. Our server was there almost immediately with two glasses of water and menus. On the server's return choosing beers was discussed, and the server was very knowledgeable. My wife ordered the Chilled house lobster salad on a buttered New England roll. $26 or one roll for $16, and I ordered the hot Pastrami on toasted rye with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut & thousand island dressing. 13.50. Our dinners were out to us very quickly. The lobster rolls were large, and the lobster was plentiful. The Pastrami was well-cooked juicy, tender, and tasty. Our server came back to check on us just on several times. A great evening. Well done to the Walrus!!!

The short rib sliders are amazing!!! Service had a little to be desired. Our dining partner ordered the short rib entree, but the server brought him the same as us, the sliders. The reason I'm not docking a star is because he was extremely satisfied with the sliders as well! The pretzel bun, tender short rib, and aioli sauce that is on the side is awesome!
