WARNING: NOT VEGAN. I don't even think the employees or owner here knows what 'vegan' or 'vegetarian' means other than a cute buzzword. But they falsely advertise their elote and a type of taco as vegan/vegetarian, despite their employees seemingly having no clue what that word even means. Very frustrating experience just trying to get a question answered about a menu item today.

I was really excited when I saw an authentic looking Mexican food place locally was offering vegan elote. On Doordash, this place comes up under 'vegan', and the first two words of the description for the elote is "gluten free, vegan". Already I was suspicious because there weren't any further ingredients on what they were using to substitute the mayo and cheese on the elote, so I called to make sure since I've been vegan (aka not eating dairy or animal products) for the past 5 years now. Consuming dairy at this point makes me extremely ill.

I call, and the guy who answers does not even know what vegan means. I ask does the cheese or mayo have dairy in it. Doesn't know what that means. I'm literally Mexican myself trying to ask this man "does it come from a cow" and I'm getting a confused yes. So it's NOT vegan. So lord knows how many people have already gotten food poisoning from this place and the careless false advertising they're doing. Thank goodness I had the foresight to doublecheck so I didn't get poisoned.

PLEASE know what words mean before you market with them. "Vegan, gluten-free", etc. are not just cute meaningless buzzwords to promote your food. They're serious ethical values and diets that some people have for medical reasons. That carelessness is what gets people ill or worse.

Vegetarian options: Despite the Doordash descriptions for their menu items like the elote and a taco saying they're vegan, I don't think the owner knows what vegan/vegetarian even means, as they could not clearly answer whether or not the cheese and mayo they use comes from a cow/is dairy. For this reason, I would proceed with caution if you are vegan, vegetarian, or have an allergen.

Very disappointed in how I was treated here. Stopped in at lunch and got two Birria Tacos. The tacos had no cheese! On them talk to the owner who was super nice and he said stop by and he will replace the tacos. so I did and this guy Cruz if that’s his real name treated me as if I was lying he literally told me I did this before with a pizza and I have never ordered a pizza from here! I also decided to order another two Birria Tacos. Only for Cruz to tell me, I can’t use the same cc I used earlier to pay they have a $10 minimum when asked why did you allow me to use it earlier? Cruz says it’s bc he didn’t want any issues.? huh? If your policy is $10min then that’s what it should be NO EXCEPTIONS!! He also sat at the register as if I was a theif or something when the young girl was trying to ring up my order. The owner has no idea how this guy is treating customers and especially the black ones. I never knew Hispanics were racial against blacks but I definitely found out today at Santiago’s on Roberts rd. Cruz do better and learn to treat people with dignity and respect! I will NEVER return and I will no longer tell my friends and family to shop here either. As for the tacos they were ok I wanted my son to try them as well which is why I went back. I will find a new place for Birria tacos.

Went to eat my food and look at the sauce! Just disgusting ? this is not how it looked when I stopped in for lunch.

It’s in the back of the grocery store. Ordered ahead, gave big advance notice, still 34 minutes late on my pick up. 2 of the 5 meals were incorrect.

The food was good! I’d eat here again. It was just what I was looking for since I’ve been in Ohio for 4 days and not being able to cook homemade meals being in a hotel.

Tried Birria Pizza for lunch today. It is basically a larger casadilla . It is tasty and filling. Ordered sides of refried beans , rice, and Maduros. The beans and rice are 1 lbs and are $5 each . Beans are not terrible, very average . Rice has peas and lima beans in it . When you enter the carry out head to the back to pick up your order , it's a little confusing where to order or pick up. 3 small tables in the back if you wanted to dine in . The staff I encountered were friendly and attentive. Orderer online , qouted 15 minute pick up time . My order took almost 45 minutes to be ready .

N Why

To me it was just okay. I had the birria pizza and the elote corn on the cob. The birria by itself, the meat was bland. You have to dip it in the juice for flavor and salt. It also came cold. I ordered Uber eats and I was only 4 miles from it. I’m a truck driver so I couldn’t go get myself. The driver came straight here, so why it was as cold as it was, I have no clue. The corn at first had a bitter taste, but then towards the bottom of it, it was really salty. I won’t let these two items stop me from trying this place again though.

No mistake, this place is largely for takeout, but I ate at the back of the grocery at one of three small tables, where I had some of the best tamales (pork and chicken–tender and flavorful) and empanadas (beef and chicken–nice crust). Service was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back. A

I like the food at this place but my last orders have been terrible. I ordered chilaquiles, they looked like atole and the other one was overloaded with salt. I don't know if they changed the cook.

I ordered my food and got it delivered but I cannot wait to go in person to have it again. The food was outstanding, probably the best birrias I have had in Columbus so far. The elote corn is to die for. I could tell the customer service is outstanding as the packing was top notch and portion sizes were very generous ? New favorite spot!
