i’m not sure because we’re 50 minutes in and haven’t even gotten our drinks
My wife and I love to support local businesses. We looked up the restaurant recently and decided to take a trip to this establishment. So let me start off the positives. The potatoes were absolutely perfect. Seasoned and fried to a crispy perfection, the gravy also gets the high marks as I love good biscuits and gravy. Now, my biggest complaint was that the biscuit was cold and dry, and no amount of gravy could've saved it. Also, I never received my bacon that was placed with the order. We will return as the atmosphere is trendy and the staff is friendly. I will try something different next time.

The good was ok, the service, and the atmosphere were good, but this place is just way too expensive. It's hard to stomach $50 for two people for breakfast. I came here seeking a diner, someplace to wait before I went to the Municipal Court in downtown and it was a good way to waste time.

Food okay the breakfast food better than lunch menu. Some dishes overly salty but that could just be me. Pancake is very good. Drinks fun and n/a options which is good thing.
Menu prices need updated I added avocado to my breakfast burrito which menu said $2 add on but bill said $3. Get some stickers or something.

A bit of a wait, but staff did their best to fit us in because we did not have reservations. The place is a little loud, but a unique environment. I didn't like the food particularly as it was very bland and a bit cold.

Update: Upgrading to 4 stars. I decided to give this place another shot and visit instead of order. Had a much better experience. Service was great, and the food was all creative and filling. I recommend the vegetarian gravy - it's a wonderfully seasoned gravy primarily composed of collards on biscuits and this was great. I'm glad I didn't let 1 mediocre experience keep me from trying again. I'll be back and remember to get some photos (didn't have a camera with me).

I ordered/picked up. Got a classic breakfast with over medium eggs, sourdough toast and "veggie bacon" and a pancake (extra crispy).
Portions were good. Most things leaned on undercooked aside from the potatoes, as the toast was not toasted and the extra crispy pancake was rather doughy in the center and not crispy at all. Another issue was the oil - my pancake dripped oil when i squeezed it (prior to me applying the provided butter). I did like that they don't serve it with powdered sugar or syrup on it though. I also appreciate the vegetarian options.
So all in all, I appreciate the sizing but most things were indeed average or okay. Maybe it was a fluke?

I recently visited Mercury Diner, and overall, it was a solid experience with a few small hiccups. The 45-minute wait was a bit long, but the atmosphere made it bearable. Once seated, the service was friendly, and the food arrived in a reasonable time, though my friend’s meal was a little cold.
As for the food—affordable, filling, and delicious! I tried a bite of my friend’s strawberry French toast, and it was not only visually stunning but also packed with flavor. The cream cheese filling was rich and creamy—definitely something that can be shared. My garlic grilled cheese had a unique, acquired taste—not bad, but different from a traditional grilled cheese.
Despite the minor temperature issue with my friend’s food, the quality and portion sizes made up for it. Would I come back? Yes! Mercury Diner is a great spot for tasty, budget-friendly comfort food, just be prepared for a wait! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think the atmosphere is much better than anything else. Small but adorable diner. Somewhat pricey for a breakfast menu, (about 16-18 plate). I liked the place but not enough to go back on a regular basis.

I had to delete my previous review because my thoughts have changed about this place I have been here over a month ago and it was great despite their bad reviews I went back a second time I think the weekend after and it was still just great but when I took my husband on the third time because I was bragging about how great it was.... It was not great at all Even the service was bad. In the photos you'll see the second time I went where the food was beautifully done a nice salad and a grilled cheese was delicious I took home the same sandwich that I got the third time in my take home sandwich was even better than what I got served in the restaurant the third time. I got a double melt sandwich and it was so big and delicious I couldn't eat it all but what I got when I dined in I couldn't even eat I had to send it back as you'll see from the pictures the bud was turned inside out and placed on the sandwich The meat was paper thin and kind of torn up and kind of just thrown on the bun, some of it was on the plate wasn't even in the sandwich so for that reason I have to change my rating. The food was bad. Even my husband was not impressed with anything. Our waitress was not good either she had a bit of an attitude yet we still tipped her, just very unfortunate this time. The biscuits and gravy looked sloppy and tasted weird. My kids got chocolate pancake and all of the chocolate was in middle of pancake.

Food is usually good but they often when asked will say yes things are included but once you get home you discover they are missing. My last visit however was more than a aggravating I thought I saw chocolate on my bag. I enquired and was told of course not. Once in the car I went to take a bite of my blueberry pancake before driving off and almost bit into a mouthful of Chocolate. I AM ALLERGIC TO CHOCOLATE. When I went back inside there was no apology just snatched the bag and said I’ll get you another. It was not a pleasant experience.

The Mercury Diner is a very nice diner. The crowd is diverse and the vibe is relaxed. The food is good, but this is not a cheap meal. I got the grilled cheese with French fries at $13+. The grilled cheese was a little soggy, but the fries were super crispy. It all tasted good. The service is excellent. They are very attentive. The place was super crowded, but it didn't feel oppressive.
Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend bringing children. The food is not really kid friendly.
