The Royce used to be one of our favorite restaurants. It's been awhile since we've returned and we were looking forward to a night out, starting with The Royce. We opted to sit at the bar. Service was fine. Please get rid of the ugly advertisement coasters. This is like throwing Bud Light umbrellas outside on the patio just because your beer distributor opted to give you some. Just because you have them, doesn't mean you should use them. They look incredibly tacky for what once presented as a more high end establishment. The new menus are just laminated paper. I hope these are just for the bar and not the entire restaurant. They were not elegant or attractive in presentation. Menu options were much more limited than in our prior visits. Disappointed to see some of my favorites gone. We ended up just ordered appetizers which were overall ok. Biscuits and deviled eggs have always been a staple but could have done without the rest. For the cost, quality and overall experience, not sure we will return again soon.

The Royce has the honor of being one of my favorite new restaurants in Columbus, OH. A group of colleagues and I arrived at The Royce hungry after a long day of workshops. We were immediately seated and given a menu of several exquisite items. I enjoyed the blackened chicken breast over a plate of fresh mixed greens. The Royce should be on your list of restaurants to try in the near future.

This was our first visit. We went Thursday May 18 in the evening. It was beautiful out so the restaurant was pretty slow. The music was great as we sat on the patio. The service was very slow which was puzzling considering how empty the place was. After we sat, they dropped the menus and said they would be right back for our drinks. 10 minutes later I had to ask another server to have our server come back to our table. We ordered wine and that took another 10 minutes to come out. We were afraid to order appetizers for fear of how long the process would take. Our entrees were fantastic which saved the day. The music was a great vibe too. There was no reason for the service to be so bad. It was rather pricey for 2 drinks and 2 entrees though.

We were happy to find The Royce for a family dinner. Food was delicious — the salmon and the mushroom risotto were both perfectly prepared! The ambience was casual, with a cozy inside area with fireplaces and an outdoor area we will have to try when it's warmer. It wasn't terribly crowded during our visit, so the noise level was fine. I will go here again!

First time customers, will not return. The short rib hash was a slab of pot roast with a sweet brown gravy/sauce, a few chunks of potatoes & egg, the shrimp & grits, cold, runny and tasteless. Asked to have the grits warmed up, brought out a new serving, little improvement. Our server was nice, although appeared to be spread out throughout the restaurant. Corn drop biscuits were the high point of the food, but not worth returning for.

Personable service, delicious, food and beautiful environment. The staff was very helpful in selecting good food to match our taste. It was pouring down rain when we left l, so the manager sent us out with an umbrella to get to our car. We will definitely return!

Our server was great but overwhelmed by the amount of tables he had. Cocktails were great. Appetizers phenomenal. The $9 salad was extremely small and the ingredients were run of the mill, nothing special. The entrees were underwhelming for the price. All around, good experience, would recommend if asked, but I wouldn't suggest this as one of my favorites. Also, very VERY loud. Couldn't hear my wife talk even though she was 2 feet away

the design has zero identity. the food was churched up hospital food at best, definitely not cooked fresh to order. lots of frozen or par-cooking. our waitress was so sweet and attentive but food/drink service was very slow and some of the waitresses were in hoodies and puckered gym leggings...which i found odd. had never heard of it before and wouldnt tell others about it in the future.

Atmosphere is unmatched! Went for my birthday brunch while in Cbus. Had the pleasure of talking with the owner great guy! He showed us great hospitality how often can you say this about the owner? Our server was great too. The breakfast sauage & stuffed french toast was a no but the oysters were great and the mule. I cant wait to go back for dinner because I dont feel brunch is their strongest suit but my wife enjoyed her peach french toast and eggs!!

Beautiful interior but the food and drinks are just ok. Wasn’t impressed. Chicken sandwich had no seasoning, sidecar was ok and wedge was decent. Great service though.

I had made reserve for my birthday dinner 4/8/23 @ 7:30pm I had booked for 15/20 people. I got to the restaurant at 7:06pm which was early the lady at the host table stated ' You early its 7:06 you can wait in the waiting area. So, me and the few guesses went to wait and even order drinks as well. When 7:30 comes I head back over to the host table and let the lady know we was there for 7:30 reservation I was told that she was still waiting on the table for us. I can understand table not being ready even though we were early so they knew we was there. Then 7:45 comes we still have not been seated and when I was, I was told that there was a lot of parties for the night. Now remember I got there at 7:06 and the Restuarant was not that busy. There were parties in the private room. I then see the same lady who stated that she was waiting on a table for us go to another waiter and state " it's almost 8 and there still no table' at this point I'm upset about the matter and how we were treated for our first time. Our waiter Jaylan was great she tried her best to keep a smile on our face. The problem was the manager ( NEA CARPANTER) was on the floor and not once came to the table to apologize. When asked if the gratuity could be taking off seeing we did not seat down till 8:02 for a 7:30 reservation was told no because we did not wait because we were early. When I went to speak with her, she stated she was told we waited only 10 min to be seated. I then explain to her that seating down 30min pass reservation time is longer than 10 min. She never apologized for the action. I have called and left a message for owner still no return call. I have now called and spoken with 2 different managers and was told to call back and for 3 days to speak with owner. I sent a email which a employee ( SAM ) replies back. I have yet to hear back from the owner. It was 11 of us that work for big corporation and I will not be booking here again. It was my 1st time, and I won't be back. It's does not seem like the owner cares about the service that his/her employees give out bad for business.

After over an hour waiting, did not receive our food so we asked for our check and left. Was told there was a large party so the kitchen was backed up, but I don't see how that is my problem since the restaurant accepted our reservation.

We went to Royce for Easter Brunch. Personally with a big bunch day, I was expecting a little slow service. Sadly our server was the best part of the meal. We had a noon reservation. I mention that because of the following. When trying to order eggs benedict , we were told they were out of hollandaise sauce -a 12 noon reservation and they were out. We then looked at the menu to order an egg omelette. The direction on the menu said choose any three items. We were told that was not available. There was just 1 omelette that day. Take the items in that 1 omelette or leave it. Once we found something that everyone could actually order, 2 items came out from the kitchen, then 3 minutes came the third item and finally the last item was served over 7 minutes after the first item. We have come to Royce often. We probably go again just not on any special day to have a special meal.

Only one person responsible for seating, taking orders and serving table. Initially only delivered part of the order - forgot the”starter.” Telephone was ringing with no one to answer. Walk-in customers asked how they could get a table as no one greeted them. Won't return.

Thank you so much! This was my daughters first time at this restaurant and also she was there celebrating her 17th birthday with her friends. They said they had an amazing time and the food was so good! So glad I recommended this place & she truly enjoyed it!
