My fiance and I were super excited to work with Suisse Shop for our upcoming wedding in October after being fans of the bakery for a while now. Unfortunately, working with them for our order was a bit of a challenge from the beginning, which I should have taken as a sign.Long story short, after our cake tasting and getting our order finalized, we were just waiting to hear back about the finishing details of our order, mainly how much it would come to and how we would be expected to pay. We had already entered our contract with Suisse Shop, so I was under the assumption that we would have more information about our order fairly quickly. After not hearing back from the shop for 10 days, I decided to send a follow up email and call just to be safe. You can imagine how puzzling it was to see the "Permanently Closed" tag when I looked up the bakery to double check the phone number. Thankfully my fiance and I hadn't placed a deposit or paid in full only to find out via Yelp and Reddit that our bakery was closed without any notice from the shop owners or employees... other couples haven't been so lucky it seems. While we managed to luck out when it comes to the money side, this has left us to scramble to find an alternative for our wedding on short notice. Like I said, we lucked out, but other couples are now also facing a similar problem on top of having no way to receive refunds, and as of writing this review it doesn't seem like there is any way to contact Suisse Shop to even inquire about getting their money back. This is just completely unacceptable from a business who has been working in the wedding sphere for years, and a total slap in the face to customers who were once thrilled to work with this bakery. No notice of closure, no refunds issued, just silence on the company's end. The message you can listen to when you call the shop's number mentioned perhaps reopening in the coming months... as saddened as we were to learn of its closing, my fiance and I personally will not be giving any more business to Suisse Shop even if it reopens after the complete disregard and lack of communication to clients with active and ongoing orders.

Found out through social media that the bakery is closed. I lost out on over 300 dollars for my wedding cake deposit and am out a baker. They did not even inform me that they closed. If I did not see this social media post I would not have found out until right before my wedding. Disgraceful!

This business closed its doors with no notice, leaving many brides with weddings in the very near future without any recourse. Their "policy". In writing was a full refund and help finding another bakery. Not only was this not done, they did not inform anyone about the closing. If I had not called early to make the final payment on my granddaughter's cake, we would not have known anything until two weeks before the wedding! Luckily she found someone else to step up. This is disgraceful!

Just came to pick up cookies for a birthday party. Unfortunately, the sign on the door says they are closed - hoping they are able to reopen the shop soon. They were a family favorite for years. The website isn’t updated - just wanted to give everyone on heads up before driving 45 minutes to the shop like I did.

I was out to dinner recently commenting to my dining partner that restaurants really overlook the dessert options and all I wanted was a good chocolate cake. The table next to me interrupted me and told me I needed to get cake at Suisse Bakery. We got cake here for a friends birthday party. They have a variety of pre made cakes available- two sizes: 5 inch and 10 inch, with a variety of cakes and frostings. There are also an assortment of cookies and baked goods to get without a preorder. The cake is incredible! Not to sweet, a good crumb and overall well balanced flavor. 5 stars for sure! I also got a peanut butter cookie with a peanut butter cup on top (no picture sorry) and it was fantastic. This is my new go-to for cake!

The cake was absolutely gorgeous and it tasted amazing! We got a custom 3D Cake. I definitely recommend this bakery for all your special cakes!

We went with them for our wedding! The only thing that was a bit frustrating was the communication side of things. But the desserts were above and beyond amazing! Sooooooo good for the pricing too. They matched the icing with our wedding colors perfectly! Highly recommend!

You’d be lucky if they remember your order… It has happened twice now and we aren’t going back. First time we placed an order in person. Somehow that got jacked up. Then this time we submitted an order online and the guy forgot about the order… like really?!?!? Do you all care at all of the business you are providing??

Completely unprofessional service. Called to order a cake 2 weeks before my daughters graduation. Was told they could make it but that I had to place the order online. I placed the order online as instructed, including details and pictures. 5 days later I had heard nothing back so called to confirm details. Gentleman on phone told me they were not accepting more orders. I conveyed that I had ordered a week prior and spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed they could make it and now, the week of graduation would not be able to find a bakery to make it. He said "I'm sorry we cannot make your cake". Will never order from Suisse Shop again!

We ordered a small 2 layer cake for my hubby & me to share for our 50th anniversary. The cake looked very elegant and the cake itself was very tasty, but the texture of the icing was like wax. There was almost as much icing as there was cake, so after we tasted it, we threw the rest away. I was so disappointed b/c the bakery had come so highly recommended.

I seriously can’t drive by with out stopping in. I live in Plain City so when I am in the area I have to go and get some awesome cupcakes! Their cakes are amazing as well and they have a selection of cookies that are to die for! If your have a special occasion you have to order from here. Or if you have a sweet tooth you have to stop in. Yummy.

They do not know how to run a business. I called on 3 different days, no answer, no call back to my voicemails. When I showed up they said we stopped making the cake we used to. What a bait and switch. They could have told me that before and I would have gone anywhere else. Then I was stuck there with no time and no choice but day-old cakes that they would not personalize but happy to over charge for. It was a mini cake for $30!! And they would not write on it. Had the nerve to recommend I drive to Party City for a topper. They didn't realize I had driven almost 2 hours to get to them. They're useless! Do not recommend

OMG!!! I am so happy that I tried The Suisse Shop!! I ordered an Italian Cassata and a German Chocolate for my 10 Year Firm Anniversary Celebration and not only were they pretty, they were DELICIOUS!! The German Chocolate was delish. But, when me and my girls tasted the Italian Cassata, we were all DELIGHTED with that "Oooh, this is GOOOD!" look on our faces!!

Sadly I have to give this place only a 1 star. I came in (today) on a Friday afternoon. The man at the counter (he may have been the owner?) looked at me in a rather unfriendly way. He didn't smile or look happy to see a customer. I asked about the cupcake flavors since there were no labels. He told me the gourmet cupcakes were $4 and the regular were $3.50. I got a gourmet one (peanut butter and jelly) and a regular one (almond cake with buttercream I think). $4 is expensive for a cupcake. "It better be amazing for this price." Sadly it wasn't even worth as a free cupcake. When I opened the box, I noticed the icing on both cupcakes was rock hard and cold. The jelly was sticky and viscous... as if the whole thing was stale and had been sitting there for days. Yuck. It was definitely not made fresh. I expect icing to be soft and rock hard icing is a no no. Maybe they have their reasons, but taste wise, these cupcakes are not even worth eating if they were given for free. I got a vanilla icing cookie which was also not worth it. The total came to $11 which was money down the drain. I probably should have taken it as a sign and walked out when I saw the disdain on the man's expression. Taking this one off my bookmarks.

First off, this was an $85 cake. I think I have seen 10 year olds on the Food Network's Baking Championship shows decorate cakes better. The cake topper came from Amazon, which shows the lack of creativity. The white chocolate cake was dry. There are only 2 layers on custom cakes, which totaled about 3 inches. For $85 I was expecting a lot more design and creativity. Even with a cake topper, I think there was a lot more they could have done with the design. I was very disappointed in the appearance and the dryness of the cake. I won't be wasting my money at this place ever again. Owner called me and reimbursed me. This was not what she told the decorator to do.
