Great service food!
This was my second time dining at The Top, and the decision to do so was met with reluctance based on my first time.
I was disappointed from the very beginning. I was not greeted upon entry and it was obvious to several servers who passed by me that I did not know where to go since I unknowingly came through the rear door. I had to stop someone eventually and they pointed me to the front of the restaurant for the hostess station.
The food was not what I expected at a top rated steak house. I have dined at practically every steakhouse in Columbus, and The Top is at the very bottom, and several levels below my next lowest rated steakhouse.
I ordered a medium rare steak with a push and it arrived medium well. I sent it back and requested they prepare it medium and it came back well done. At this point, I chose not to send it back and made up my mind I would never return to the restaurant. In addition, the quality of the steak was very disappointing. It was not at the level of other steakhouses in Columbus.
Lastly, the restaurant is very dark. Perhaps that works for others, but something to note if you ever dine there.

An absolute gem on the east side of town. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food is scrumptious. From the appetizers to the main course you won't be disappointed. My Wife and I go faithfully. French onion soup, Oyster Rockefeller, Chefs salad, Poterhouse Steak, Whipped potatoes and Mac n cheese is my order everytime and everytime they deliver 😋 👌

I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a louder steakhouse in my life… I’m sure it has to do with the building being older and the acoustics on top of tables being close together but I was shocked when we entered that dining room at 7p… it really took away from enjoying a nice dinner for me. People were competing to bark over each other just to hear themselves. It was also so busy that our server took 10 minutes to greet us, which when you’re paying over $200 for two people, isn’t acceptable. She was a very lovely woman so once we did interact with her, my demeanor was fortunately changed. We also had to ask for a drink menu which should have been brought when we were sat. As for the food, it was decent. Not worth the price in my opinion so in line with some of these other reviews. I don’t think I’d be returning and will likely go elsewhere for a nicer dinner experience.

Dined here in December 2025 and had an issue with my experience. I reached out to management three separate times by email and also called after being told the GM would contact me directly to resolve it. I never received a return phone call or email.
The food is good, but when you’re charging $100+ per person, completely ignoring a customer trying to resolve a concern is unacceptable. The lack of communication and accountability from management left a bad taste in my mouth.
Good food can’t make up for poor customer service.
I visited on the recommendation of David (a talented friend moreover chef) and I’m so grateful I did. Knowing the passion he brings to the kitchen made me even more excited to come in and the experience did not disappoint. This dinner was meant to make up for spending my birthday stuck at home during the storm, and it turned out to be more special than I could have hoped for.
Even though it was Restaurant Week, we ordered from the regular menu and I’m so glad we did. The ribeye was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You can truly taste the care behind the food as we got a bit of everything.
Layla, our bartender, was amazing and made the night even better with her great drinks and warm, welcoming energy. She's made a repeat guest out of me with her drinks.
The hospitality and atmosphere were exceptional overall. Thank you to the entire team for turning my belated birthday into such a memorable evening. Truly you all did great:)

Went for the hype, not worth it. We were sat next to the loud bar after making prior reservations. The exterior wall had some insulation problems I guess and froze my legs, literally had to wrap my jacket around my legs. Food was just ok. Experience and food was definitely not worth the price. Sorry, not a steakhouse I would visit again.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! This is a classic and authentic place to eat with character you truly won’t find anywhere else. I absolutely love this location in Bexley.
The food is outstanding — especially the Rockefeller oysters. They are completely mouthwatering. If you’ve never tried them, you have to go. For around $20, it’s an incredible meal and totally worth it.
Highly recommend!

So happy to have shared a meal with dear friends here. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all T-O-P. Best steak I’ve had in years. And that horseradish — OOH. Creamed spinach? Yum. Nice big old-fashioned. Piano bar. Perfect.

Solid steaks and great service. People often say that it is the best steakhouse in Columbus, however I believe for a lot of people they like the place because it's nostalgic to some degree. A very solid steakhouse indeed, carpet and booths could have been a bit cleaner but outside of that no complaints.

Food was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly and it was excellent quality beef. Drinks were well-made and did not skimp on the alcohol. Service was exceptionally slow, though it could have been due to coming during restaurant week. Also had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation time for the table to be ready.

The filet I had was not cooked to order, the potatoes were cold, and the booth was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. I heard this was the best place to get a steak. I had better steaks at low end restaurants.

The food was outstanding. Our server, Char, went above and beyond and was fantastic. The best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Would recommend 10/10 for date night.
