This was my first time at this highly rated word of mouth restaurant. By the end of the evening my perception of this eatery was that it is over-rated. I would rate the atmosphere higher but it doesn't matter if the food and service are not up to par. The salad was wilted and the fries didn't arrive with the meal. I reminded the waiter and he was polite. A few minutes later, he brought out burnt fries. I was with a large party celebrating a birthday so I decided that I would address it later. The waiters were more concerned with promptly supplying the alcoholic beverages and refills then making sure that the food was served correctly.
What a disappointment! Living off their past reputation.

Bethany was totally on point. Everything was timed perfectly. No rush. Everything was fantastic. It’s 2025 and prices were in line with service and atmosphere. The exception was the lobster tail. A bit pricey even in today’s market. On the other hand the cocktails had generous portions and were quite reasonable. The escargot was really tasty. Not smothered in so much garlic you couldn’t taste the dish. Prime rib done to perfection. Scallops again done right.

My fiance and I enjoy reading restaurant reviews before we decide where to eat, and we chose The Top for the all the positive comments about the friendly staff, unique vibe, and tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised to have Cher as our server! We saw her name mentioned in a lot of the great reviews and she was nothing short of amazing! She guided us through the meal answering all of our questions, making recommendations that were spot on, and making us smile all night - excellent service makes all the difference to us. We were there for quite a while and enjoyed the food and live music while having some great drinks and good conversation. The music was amazing (Thank you Jerry!), service was impeccable (Thank you Cher!), and the food delicious (kudos to the kitchen staff!). The combination of all three in one dining experience made for such a wonderful night out from start to finish - thank you to The Top!

Spoke with Gregory at the front who was extremely rude to me about the fact my gift card was a couple days expired asked him if he could do anything for me and he was just a complete jerk and condescending to me “no exceptions we explained it when you purchased the gift card” when honestly I had no idea came here to take my wife out to dinner and just realized that it was expired. It was for $20 not like it will make or break you but the fact you want to get rude with me is beyond horrible customer service especially since I purchased $300 worth of gift cards and had been out of the country for family matters but it is petty you want to act like that when I spend $100s here..I won’t be back I’d rather go to Hyde park or Jeff rubys where they know how to treat loyal customers. I won’t bother coming here anymore and make sure to tell bexley people about the horrible customer service I experienced with Greg one of the managers. I feel disappointed and disrespected that’s not how you treat regulars at a “high class” steakhouse what a bunch of cheap skates lol someone needs to teach Gregory how to have some manors. The explanation I got from Greg is our owners are cheap they’re out of town right now so can’t even do anything for you and they told us absolutely no exceptions!!!

LUCKILY our server was absolutely wonderful and made up for Greg’s horrible experience

Absolutely 10 out of 10! The atmosphere transports you to the 1950s, the service is wonderful, and the food is to die for. Favorite steak house in Columbus!

The staff is outstanding. The food is delicious. My favorite drinks are the pear martini and the side car.

We have dined at The Top several times before with an amazing experience which is why we keep coming back. However, after last evening's experience, we will confirm if the manager, Greg, is working prior to reservation. My rating on service is purely due to our interaction with Greg as our servers were lovely.

Our reservations could not be found upon arrival in which we had to verify(we provided the email of the reservation and the confirmation). Greg came to assist the server and the server advised we had shown proof of reservation. Greg then proceeded to ask if we had reservations. We felt bad for the server because it came across like the young man did not do his job.

We then had to return our appetizer once due to being burnt(not charred or seared as expected)and received the second to be just the same. The server took this off our bill.

Our main course arrived in which we ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare. This too, came out burnt on the outside to the point where after one bite we asked to speak with the manager. Greg listened to our concern in which he agreed that the steak was overcooked and took it back to the kitchen. He then came back moments later with the same steak and a flashlight to say it was due to the lighting that we thought it was burnt and indeed it was not burnt as he shined his flashlight back and forth over the steak. We explained to him the taste and also what we have been served before. Greg then started to speak to us like we were school aged children and asked us if the chef should turn down the broiler. At this point we advised him if we wanted to instruct someone how to cook our food then we wouldn't have come to the restaurant to eat. Greg took our plate back and shortly thereafter our server returned a steak cooked to the level and quality we have received before.

We appreciate that corrections were made to the appetizer and the steak. The main issue is that corrections need to be made to Greg's delivery to his customers.
