The food was top notch. As a family of six, we were able to order and try a variety of items and were pleased with everything. The quality matched the price, but it was expensive. I was worried that it would not be friendly for a family our size, but we trusted other reviews which said they are family and kid friendly, and we were accommodated as if it was no problem. I especially liked that the kids meals were not patronizing. Some places offer low quality alternatives for kids, but they got the same high quality authentic German food. It was a good experience.

Great classic German comfort food, very cozy like hanging out in a Friends house. Our server was fun and on the ball. Super cozy little bar and dining area. A great place to meet a couple friends, have hearty German beer and some schnitzel!🇩🇪

Seems like a very popular spot for brunch. I had the French toast and it was very good, skillet breakfasts were huge. Historic and fun place

Valters is a special and authentic restaurant at German Village. I came here with my friends several times. Their German style decorations are interesting. They also have a great bar and patio. Compared with other popular restaurants at this area, Valters always has enough seats without long waiting during dinner time. I like their large and juicy meat. But the meat inside skin sometimes tastes a little plain, in other words all the tastes stayed in skins.

Was disappointed in the pierogis. Too doughy. Jamie however provided great service and the red cabbage was very good!

First time at this restaurant. Such a cute place located in The German Village. Our server was wonderful and we loved the ambiance. We all had the Sauerbraten with Spaetzle. The Sauerbraten was tasty, and the portions were generous. However, the spaetzle was incredibly salty. There were 4 of us, with ages ranging from 23-79 and all of us thought there was entirely too much salt. They brought out a different portion of the spaetzle and that was also the same. Our server was apologetic and offered us dessert. We liked the overall experience.

Valters at the Maennerchor is hands down one of my favorite spots in Columbus. From the moment you walk in, the warm, cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home. I can’t get enough of their jagerschnitzel – it’s perfectly crispy and the mushroom sauce is rich and comforting. The Reuben is another go-to for me; the corned beef is tender, and the sauerkraut has just the right amount of tang. The staff is always so friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Whether I’m grabbing dinner with friends or just stopping in for a beer, Valters never disappoints. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out! Happy New Year!!

The Viennese schnitzel was a delight—crispy, tender, and full of flavour, almost a classic preparation. For dessert, the tiramisu was an unexpected treat, balanced with its sweet and creamy layers . Both dishes were well-executed, leaving a lasting impression. A wonderful dining experience overall!

Really cool place.. BUT.. the food was disappointing (greasy flavorless Viennerschnitel, spaetzle from Aldi, asparagus past it's peak, with a kind of vague no doubt instant "mushroom" sauce) , served in a not timely manner on cold plates. They gave us the wrong appetizer TWICE. The French dip sandwich was pretty good and the German chocolate cake was spot on but I'm Pretty sure a place like golden corrall or any average cook could do better even on a week night. I really wanted to love this place but can't see going back

Absolutely the ambience and feeling of a German village pub - in a positive sense. Great service and the food was delicious - but far too expensive, hence only 3 stars.

We were traveling cross country and decided to overnight in Columbus Oh because I saw in Google Maps a little section called the German Village. That was that a mistake. There is nothing German about this place! But this one restaurant was able to redeem the entire misnamed part of town. The decor, inside and out was German styled. And the food, while having some German flair, was good. We had brunch and the place was packed. The serving size was plentiful and the German foods offered were somewhat German. I can understand though the need to americanize some foods... The prices are also affordable. If you happen to find yourself in this part of Columbus looking for some German flair, go nowhere else, you will be sorely disappointed. Fortunately, Valters doesn't disappoint and you can get somewhat of a German "fix" here.
