This is a harder one for me to write. Our server was excellent and attentive and the atmosphere really took me back to Germany (stationed there for several years). The pierogi was delicious as were the fries but my family and I agreed that those two things along were not worth the trip back because of the price. For $18, the pierogi appetizer is one of the more expensive appetizers we’ve had in the city. We cannot justify $4.50/pierogi even if they were good! The French onion...
Valter’s at the Maennerchor is such a gem! The atmosphere feels so cute and European—cozy, woodsy, and full of charm. It’s one of my favorite places to unwind, especially for brunch. The burger is genuinely exceptional, and their sandwiches are consistently my favorite picks on the menu. I just wish there were more non-pork options available, especially during brunch. Still, between the food and the vibe, it’s a spot I’ll always come back to. Highly recommend!
Very quintessentially German. Brunch there was a ton of fun, our food was served in the cast iron pans they were cooked. Beautiful no, delicious, absolutely! Seating is limited so reservations are recommended for busy times and their parking lot is quite small but there's plenty of free street parking. Be sure to bring your appetite as the portions are large!
